    Manager on Duty – Sachs Recreation Center
    About Us
    The Deerfield Park District provides exceptional parks, facilities, and recreation programs that enrich lives and promote healthy living. Our 100,000-square-foot Sachs Recreation Center offers fitness, wellness, and sports activities for all ages, featuring a full-service fitness center, lap pool, gymnasiums, tennis and racquetball courts, and specialized studios.
    Position Overview
    The Manager on Duty (MOD) oversees daily operations when full-time managers are not on-site. This includes supervising staff, ensuring smooth facility and program operations, and delivering excellent customer service to members and guests.
    Essential Functions
    • Oversee front desk, fitness floor, and daily facility schedule.
    • Supervise and support part-time staff; report performance issues as needed.
    • Respond promptly to member and guest inquiries, concerns, and requests.
    • Handle cash and credit transactions; process daily deposits.
    • Secure facility, set alarms, and follow closing procedures.
    • Conduct tours, process memberships, and promote the recreation center.
    • Maintain a clean, professional front desk and facility environment.
    • Ensure all policies and safety procedures are followed.
    • Perform general administrative duties as needed.
    • Must be able to open and close the facility independently
    Qualifications
    • Minimum age 21.
    • Strong communication, customer service, and leadership skills.
    • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and remain calm under pressure.
    • Basic computer and cash-handling skills required.
    • CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain).
    • Genuine interest in working with people of all ages in a team-oriented environment.
    Hours & Pay
    • Part-Time Shifts Available:
      • Monday 5pm-9pm
      • Wednesday 5pm-9pm
      • Friday 5pm-8pm 
    • Pay: $20.00–$22.00/hour (starting at $20.00)
