    Description

    Vetta Sports is seeking a reliable, proactive Manager on Duty (MOD) to join our team on a part-time basis. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact during shift hours, ensuring smoothly run league games, open play, birthday parties, and facility rentals. You’ll oversee support staff, keep our facility clean and safe, deliver great customer service to players and families, and handle day-to-day operational needs.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Shift Leadership: Serve as the main point of contact for guests, referees, coaches, and staff during your shift. Keep activities on schedule across all fields/rinks.
    • Customer Service & De-escalation: Warmly greet visitors, answer guest inquiries, and resolve minor customer service or scheduling conflicts in facility calmly and professionally.
    • Staff Oversight: Guide and assist front-line staff, concession workers, or officials. Ensure team members are on time, engaged, and adhering to customer service standards.
    • Facility Safety & Maintenance: Conduct periodic walkthroughs to ensure fields, rinks, restrooms, parking lots and lobbies stay clean, safe, and stocked. Address minor spills or hazards immediately.
    • Shift Opening & Closing: Complete opening/closing checklists, secure the building at night, manage register drawer reconciliation, and perform basic POS cash drops.
    • Incident Reporting: Log notable issues, injuries, or facility maintenance requests in a brief shift report for the General Manager.
    Qualifications
    • Experience: 1+ years in a supervisory, team lead, or senior customer service role preferred (sports facility, gym, retail, or hospitality experience is a plus).
    • Communication: Friendly, professional demeanor with strong conflict-resolution and de-escalation skills.
    • Technical & Math Skills: Comfortable operating a POS system, managing basic cash handling, and learning facility management software.
    • Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age (where applicable for supervisory authority over bar staff).
    • Availability: Flexible availability for evening shifts, weekends, and occasional holidays.
    • Certifications: Must pass a standard background check.
    Working Conditions & Physical Demands
    • Active role requiring walking, standing, and moving around the facility throughout the shift.
    • Occasional light lifting (up to 30 lbs) to move equipment, sports gear, or inventory.
    • Work takes place in a lively, moderately noisy sports environment.

    Employment classification
    This is a part-time position requiring a flexible schedule dictated by the facility's event calendar, including primary season game days.
