About the Role Join our Team! The City of Kentwood is seeking a Manager on Duty to support our Parks & Recreation Department on an irregular part-time basis. In this role, youll help oversee daily recreation facility operations while ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all visitors. Youll serve as a key point of contact during facility hourssupporting programs and events, assisting patrons, and ensuring operations run smoothly. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, takes initiative, and thrives in a fast-paced, community-focused environment. What Youll Do Supervise daily recreation facility operations and ensure safe, appropriate use of all spacesOpen and close facilities following established proceduresProvide excellent customer service to patrons in person, by phone, and via emailAssist with registrations, memberships, reservations, and paymentsSupport programs and events, including setup and teardown of equipment and spacesConduct routine walkthroughs to monitor cleanliness, safety, and maintenance needsPerform basic custodial tasks to maintain a clean and organized facilityHandle cash transactions and complete daily financial balancingEnforce facility policies and respond to incidents, accidents, and emergenciesServe as a point of contact for participants, volunteers, and community groupsComplete reports such as attendance logs, incident reports, and daily activity records About You Youre dependable, observant, and customer-focused, with the ability to take initiative and manage responsibilities independently. Youre comfortable handling a variety of tasksfrom customer service to facility oversightand can stay calm and professional in busy or unexpected situations.
