Job Title: Manager of Perishables

Summary
The Manager of Perishables is responsible for the supervision and coordination of activities for the following departments: Bakery & DSD, Café, Catering, Cheese, Deli, Meat, Produce, Bulk, Seafood, & Sushi Departments. Additionally, he/she develops and maintains systems to ensure compliance to all food safety standards, and is responsible for document control and records. He/she works closely with the Store Director and Department Managers to assure that all Company personnel, policies, and procedures are administered in a consistent fashion.

Customer Service Skills
The Manager of Perishables is expected to provide customer service to internal as well as external customers. They are required to follow established policies and guidelines that go beyond simply smiling and greeting customers. Going above and beyond encompasses attitudes, respect, and flexibility. Managers of Perishables are expected to have a positive "can-do" attitude; to treat others with respect; and easily adjust to changes in the work place.
Supervisory Responsibilities
He/she is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of non-perishable departments. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Company policies, procedures, and applicable laws.

Education and/or Experience
As this is a Salaried Position, the minimum education requirement includes enrollment in or completion of one of the following:
Retail Management Certificate Program
Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school
Bachelor's degree (BA) from a four-year College, University, or technical school.
Additionally, the individual must have experience and education sufficient to perform the outlined duties of the position along with multi task and multi project capabilities.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, gross profits, percentages, and sales.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to resolve conflicts in such a manner so as to create a win-win situation. Ability to analyze a variety of situations, think through to a solution and implement the solution.
