    Barron Industries, a leader in aerospace and defense manufacturing since 1983, is seeking an experienced Manager of Machining Operations to join our team in Oxford, MI. 


    What You'll Do

    •   Lead the build-out and launch of the initial precision machining cell, including equipment selection, installation, setup, and commissioning.
    •         Own the machining process from end to end, including drawing review, CNC programming, setup, tooling, and hands-on machining.
    •         Develop and implement standardized workflows, processes, and best practices to support safe, efficient, and repeatable production.
    •         Bring the initial machining cell fully operational and capable of producing quality parts to specification within the first 90 days.
    •         Build, mentor, and lead a growing team of machinists and an Applications Specialist as machining capacity expands.
    •         Ensure all machining operations meet quality and compliance requirements, including ITAR, ISO9001, and AS9100 standards.
    •         Partner closely with company leadership on machining strategy, equipment investments, and future capacity planning while maintaining clear ownership and accountability for machining operations.

    What We’re Looking For


    Required:

    • 10+ years of experience in precision CNC machining.
    • Extensive hands-on experience across CNC programming, applications, machine setup, and machining operations.
    • Proven experience working with high-precision machining processes and tight-tolerance components.
    • Experience with Doosan and Makino CNC equipment preferred.
    • Prior leadership experience overseeing a CNC machining team, department, or operation.
    • Demonstrated ownership mentality with the ability to build a machining capability from the ground up and take accountability for results.
    • Comfortable providing leadership and operational support across two facilities.
    • Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a hands-on manufacturing environment while also developing processes, people, and capabilities.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in Aerospace and Defense manufacturing environments.
    • Familiarity with ITAR, ISO 9001, and AS9100 requirements.
    • Experience machining complex, high-value, tight-tolerance aerospace or defense components.
    • Experience establishing machining processes, standards, and workflows in a growing operation.
