Aon is looking for a Manager of Funds Treasury and Accounting

 

The role requires a strong working relationship with fund custodians, administrators, and auditors to ensure accuracy and compliance. This manager brings leadership and expertise on fund accounting/treasury operations to best serve our clients. We are looking for a highly skilled professional to join our Funds Treasury/Accounting team. This role is essential in supporting the financial operations of Aon’s proprietary US and Canadian investment funds, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all treasury and accounting activities. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise in accounting principles, GAAP/IFRS, and fund accounting, combined with a collaborative mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Fund Accounting & Reporting

 

  • Maintain accurate accounting records for multiple investment funds, including journal entries, reconciliations, and NAV oversight.
  • Manage reconciliations of cash, positions, and trades between internal records and external sources (custodians, administrators).
  • Review and monitor fund administrator deliverables, including NAV packages and investor reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Support activities to ensure timely and accurate completion of capital calls, distributions, and investor reporting.
  • Ensure financial statements comply with country specific accounting guidelines (eg. U.S./Canadian GAAP/IFRS), complete relevant audit checklists, and work with management regarding representation letters for investment fund audits.

 

Treasury Operations

 

  • Monitor fund cash positions, manage liquidity, and oversee settlement of fund transactions.
  • Coordinate wire transfers, payment approvals, and bank account management.
  • Provide quality assurance of investment statements prepared by fund administrator.
  • Support audit processes by providing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.

 

Compliance & Controls

 

  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and Aon’s internal control frameworks.
  • Assist in developing and implementing process improvements to strengthen compliance and operational efficiency.

 

Collaboration & Growth

 

  • Serve as key contact for internal and external stakeholders including fund managers, fund administrators, auditors, operations, portfolio management, and compliance/legal teams.
  • Collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives, including automation of processes and implementation of best practices in fund accounting.
  • Manage team, overseeing accuracy of deliverables and providing training to ensure high standards and consistent performance.  Team may be geographically dispersed.
  • Support ad-hoc projects and internal reporting requirements, including regulatory and investor inquiries.

 

Education, Experience, and Skills:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business related major.
  • CPA is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience and deep knowledge of Investment Fund Accounting.

Pay Transparency Laws: 

 

The salary range for this position intended for U.S. applicants is $155,000 to $222,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.  The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.  The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location. 

 

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon’s annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary.  The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
