How you make a difference in this role:

The Manager of Early Postsecondary Opportunities (EPSOs) will play a pivotal role in supporting the Seamless Transitions Pillar of Tennessee's education strategy. This position is essential in enhancing access to and outcomes for EPSOs across Tennessee.

Job Overview:

This position involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement strategic initiatives that promote early postsecondary access and success. As the primary contact for inquiries related to state-recognized EPSOs, including Dual Enrollment, Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), Cambridge, College Level Examination Program (CLEP), Local Dual Credit, and Statewide Dual Credit, the senior manager will create comprehensive guidance materials and presentations to facilitate effective implementation. This role will also involve conducting research to evaluate EPSO participation and outcomes and leveraging data to inform future strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate collaboration across departmental divisions and with both internal and external stakeholders to devise and implement strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing access to and outcomes for early postsecondary opportunities (EPSOs).
  • Serve as the principal contact for inquiries related to seven of the eight state-recognized EPSOs:

Dual Enrollment, Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), Cambridge, College Level Examination Program (CLEP), Local Dual Credit, and Statewide Dual Credit. This may include, but is not limited to, EPSO virtual office hours, supporting TBR's EPSO team with Formstack, and email/phone correspondence.

  • Develop, produce, and disseminate comprehensive guidance materials and presentations, including but not limited to the Landscape Analysis, regular communications through division newsletters, and the LEA Formstack, on EPSOs.
  • Lead TDOE initiatives associated with EPSOs, including the TBR/TDOE Interagency Agreement for Statewide Dual Credit, College Board's contract, and a DGA for Cambridge International and International Baccalaureate related to reimbursement of economically disadvantaged fee waivers, and lead the AP Access for All program, including a state-funded contract. Manage invoices for TBR, College Board, APAA, and fee waiver assistance in ePlan throughout the year.
  • Conduct continuous research and data collection to evaluate EPSO participation rates, identify barriers, and measure outcomes to inform leadership and for availability through an EPSO data dashboard and pillar deliverables.
  • Leverage research findings to inform the development of future priorities and strategic initiatives related to EPSOs with direct impact on the Seamless Transitions pillar and FutureReadyTN portal.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree and experience equivalent to substantial (five or more years of) full-time relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Education: Master's degree in a related field Experience:

  • At least two years of supervisory experience with progressive levels of responsibility and proven success in managing major projects with measurable deliverables related to EPSOs within an education setting
  • Experience in grant management, including reporting, monitoring, and sustainability planning
  • Experience in (or extensive knowledge of) career and technical education [Preferred]
