Position Summary

The Manager of Digital Marketingleads execution and day-to-day management of United Way’s digital presence, driving engagement, visibility, and community action across platforms. This role manages the organization’s digital ecosystem; including social media, website, and marketing technology to ensure a cohesive, data-informed and innovative approach to audience engagement.

This role partners with the Marketing Director to operationalize UnitedWay of Central Indiana’sdigital strategy, leading execution across channels. This position collaborates closely with internal teams—including Multimedia, Communications, Fundraising, and Impactto deliver integrated, brand-aligned digital campaigns. The role requires a balance of creative vision and analytical insight to move the organization forward in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Position Duties & Responsibilities

Digital Direction

  • Contribute to execution of United Way’s digital marketing strategy in partnership with the Marketing Director, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and brand identity.
  • Manage the execution and implementation of the website strategy developed with the Marketing Director.
  • Provide digital recommendations to internal stakeholders and participate in strategy briefings with leadership and partner teams.
Social Media Strategy & Brand Engagement
  • Lead social media planning and execution, aligning with the digital vision set in partnership with the Marketing Director.
  •  Manage content calendars, engagement tactics, and reporting—guiding strategy and optimization based on data and sentiment analysis.
  • Use insights from Brand24 to monitor community perception, measure impact and reporton reputation management strategies.
  • Execute the strategy, design and development of the new United Waywebsite, ensuring alignment with brand voice, usability standards and audience needs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and vendors on hosting migration, integrations and UX enhancements.
  • Apply data and UX principles to continually refine navigation, accessibility and conversion performance.

Digital Innovation & AI Integration

  • Research and adopt emerging marketing technologies, including AI-driven tools for content creation, personalization and campaign optimization.
  • Identify opportunities to automate workflows, streamline reporting, and increase efficiency across marketing operations.
  • Stay informed on industry trends in AI, UX, and digital marketing, proactively recommending tactics to enhance visibility, engagement and donor/volunteer experiences.
  • Recommend and pilotdigital innovation within the marketing function, sharing best practices and building team capability. 
Analytics, Reporting & Optimization
  • Define, track, and report on digital KPIs in collaboration with leadership and stakeholders.
  • Maintain dashboards that measure web, social, and campaign performance; translate findings into actionable insights. Serve as a cross-functional partner to Philanthropy, Impact, and Communications to ensure digital strategy supports donor, volunteer and advocate forjourneys.
  • Supportannual marketingplanning by providing digital insights and data.

Qualifications (Education & Experience)

Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of formal education where appropriate.

  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred; marketing, communications, digital media, or related field preferred. 
  • 3-5+ years of experience in digital marketing, website management, brand strategy or communications. 
  • Experience developing and executing digital marketing strategies across web, social media and other digital channels. 
  • Experience managing websites, marketing technology platforms and digital analytics. 
  • Nonprofit experience preferred. 

Knowledge & Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of digital marketing, SEO, UX, website optimization and social media strategy. 
  • Proficiency with Google Analytics, Brand24, CRM platforms and marketing technologies. 
  • Experience leveraging AI tools and automation to improve marketing effectiveness. 
  • Strong analytical, project management, communication and collaboration skills. 
  • High degree of integrity, professionalism and commitment to continuous improvement.
