    • JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
      • Provides strategic and operational leadership for Samaritan Health Services’(SHS)clinical and workforce development programs, ensuring the delivery of innovative, evidence-based learning experiences that support workforce competency, professional growth, quality outcomes, and organizational priorities.Directsthe planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement of clinical education, nursing professional development, workforce training, simulation, competency management, practice transition, clinical leadership, preceptor development, community workforce pipeline, and online learning programs.LeadsClinical Developmentstrategies,efforts,and resources to ensure the highest standards of quality and service excellence to advancethe SHSclinicallearning environment. Employs evidence-based practice, tools, theories, and advanced skills to improve system-wide outcomes and team practices.
    • DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
      • The Learning & Development department supports the development of necessary skills, knowledge, and competency across the SHS workforce and throughout the healthcare professional’s continuum of learning and development. The department cultivates a dynamic culture of continuous learning and professional growth, empowering SHS learners to deliver exceptional care and services through innovative learning programs and initiatives.

    • EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS
      • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and Master’s degreein nursing, adult education, healthcare administration, or a related fieldrequired.
      • Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required.
      • Board certification in Nursing Professional Development required within two (2) years of hire.
      • Three (3) years of clinical education experience required.
      • Two (2) years of direct care nursing experience required.
      • One (1) year of leadership experience with increasing levels of responsibility and complexity required.
      • Experience and/or training in the following required:
        • Nursing professional development theories, concepts, and principles.
        • Supporting system compliance with associated regulatory, accreditation and legal mandates.
      • Experience in the following required:
        • Developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing professional development programs.
        • Microsoft Office applications, including Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint.
      • Experience in learning management systems (LMS), competency tracking systems, and other learning platforms preferred.
