Eight million Americans are one paycheck away from becoming homeless. In Washtenaw County, 5000 people are experiencing homelessness. The Shelter Association of Washtenaw County (SAWC) was established in 1982 and is the primary provider of services and emergency shelter for individuals in Washtenaw County. SAWC is housed at the Robert J. Delonis Center in downtown Ann Arbor. SAWC works with a diverse range of people struggling with homelessness, including first-time homelessness, veterans, domestic violence survivors, and people battling substance abuse and/or mental health issues. Services are offered through our core programs: Residential Emergency Shelter, Non-Residential Shelter, Shelter Diversion, Recuperative Care, and Winter Shelter. The SAWC serves almost 1500 people annually.

Position Profile:
The Manager of Annual Giving is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating strategies that grow annual philanthropic support. This position is supervised by the Chief Development Officer and oversees the annual fund, manages all appeal campaigns, and contributes to grant-writing efforts aligned with organizational priorities. The Manager of Annual Giving works closely with development leadership to strengthen donor engagement, expand the donor base, and ensure consistent revenue growth. The salary range for this position would be 60,000 - 70,000 annually.
Work Environment:
This position is primarily in-person at SAWC’s Administrative office. The role includes the option for one remote workday per week, based on departmental needs and supervisor approval.
