The Information Security Office (ISO) coordinates the University's cybersecurity program. ISO operates critical common controls, evaluates security performance and proposed changes to the program, and works continuously to improve the institution's response to cyber risk. ISO reports on program effectiveness and direction to the Chancellor, Provost, and Board of Trustees.
Within ISO, the Analysis, Architecture, and Communications (AAC) team is responsible for the Coordination of Security program the institutional framework through which security accountability and execution is distributed across University units. The team conducts the analysis required for major security initiatives, particularly those with significant policy, business process, or architectural components, driving that analysis to conclusions and producing recommendations that inform CISO decision-making and institutional action. Domain experts inside and outside ISO are engaged as needed to complete this work. The team provides security architecture analysis and guidance for initiatives with significant institutional, policy, or cross-unit dimensions, and partners with the Security DevOps team to plan the technical implementation of major initiatives, transitioning ownership to DevOps for execution. The team also leads communications from ISO to campus to Departmental Security Administrators (DSAs), University leadership, and the broader institutional community oversees the University's security training program, and produces the program-level analysis and Key Performance Indicators that support CISO reporting to the Chancellor, Provost, and Board of Trustees.
The Manager of AAC directs the Coordination of Security program, including managing the DSA relationship network across a large, decentralized research university. This role leads complex, cross-functional analysis on security initiatives that span technology, policy, and business process, driving that analysis to actionable conclusions.
