GENERAL SUMMARY:
The purpose of this position is to manage and facilitate the coordination and securing of clinical learning sites and instructors for student clinical rotations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Manages and coordinates the staffing of adjunct clinical instructors, based on student enrollment, each semester. Ensures instructors have the appropriate credentials and experience needed for optimal student learning.
Hires, develops, trains and motivates adjunct instructors to ensure optimal performance. Provides regular feedback, including the annual performance evaluation.
Establishes and maintains positive relationships with clinical sites and preceptors.
Participates in and seeks out quality improvement opportunities.
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Contribute to the formulation of a school-wide strategy in experiential learning, with a focus on achieving goals in the areas of clinical education and simulation
Assist in developing policies and procedures relevant to clinical, experiential and simulation learning.
Coordinate clinical, experiential and simulation learning experiences in collaboration with program faculty and staff.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Two years experience working in a clinical environment.
Current and valid Iowa RN licensure.
Demonstrated ability in managing, leading or training others.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
Strong time management and attention to detail skills.
Master’s degree in nursing preferred.
Previous experience in higher education preferred.
