Purchase Power is a new program offered to FirstService Residential clients that provides access to competitively sourced products and services through a network of pre-negotiated supplier agreements with preferred vendors. By leveraging our collective purchasing power and national vendor relationships, Purchasing Power helps clients achieve cost savings, operational efficiencies, and enhanced service quality. This role serves as the primary liaison between the organization, partner vendors and participating suppliers, driving program adoption, supplier performance, and measurable value across our communities and markets. A considerable portion of the role will include collaborating with ProVista, the leading GPO (group purchasing organization) in the US, and one of our largest partners within the Purchasing Power program.
Job Overview:
The Manager of National Procurementwill lead the development, launch and growth of Purchasing Power, a subdivision of Vendor Programs & Solutions designed to convert the scale of FirstService Residential into measurable benefits for the communities we serve. The program will initially launch with a curated portfolio of supplier solutions, combining select negotiated programs and strategic supplier relationships focused on delivering value, service excellence, and operational efficiencies. As utilization and demonstrated results grow, the program will expand thoughtfully into additional categories and offerings. This leader will be accountable for transforming that vision into a scalable platform by driving supplier strategy, program adoption, performance measurement, and ongoing value creation for our communities.
Your Responsibilities:
Program Strategy & Leadership
- Own the vision, operating model and multi-year roadmap for Purchasing Power, including launch priorities, growth objectives and executive reporting.
- Translate portfolio scale into practical purchasing advantages without positioning the program as a mandate or discount-only offering.
- Partner with leadership and market teams to identify recurring purchasing needs, operational pain points and categories with meaningful potential.
Supplier & Category Development
- Serve as the primary business owner for Provista and direct strategic supplier relationships, establishing clear expectations for pricing, service, reporting and support.
- Evaluate potential categories and suppliers based on client need, purchasing volume, service capability, ease of adoption, geographic coverage and measurable value.
- Lead supplier onboarding, business reviews and expansion recommendations, including when to activate additional Provista programs or add direct relationships.
Adoption, Education & Market Engagement
- Develop launch and adoption plans with market leaders, managers, communications and supplier partners.
- Create practical education, supplier introductions, webinars, field resources and success stories that make the program understandable and easy to use.
- Gather feedback from managers and leaders, identify participation barriers and improve the experience based on field needs.
Client Value & Supplier Accountability
- Work with suppliers to develop benefits such as preferred pricing, stronger service commitments, dedicated support, technical guidance, training and value-added programs.
- Define how savings and service value will be documented and communicated, while avoiding unsupported claims or one-size-fits-all promises.
- Monitor supplier responsiveness and recurring service concerns, coordinate appropriate escalations and use performance findings to guide future program decisions.
Analytics, Governance & Reporting
- Establish baseline reporting for enrollment, utilization, purchasing activity, category performance and supplier engagement.
- Develop supplier scorecards and an executive reporting cadence that highlights progress, risks, adoption barriers, client outcomes and expansion opportunities.
- Maintain accurate program resources, supplier information, agreements, internal guidance and client-facing materials in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience developing and managing supplier, procurement, sourcing, or vendor management programs.
- Strong supplier relationship management and enterprise-level negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to build stakeholder partnerships and influence leaders across multiple markets.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
- Strong analytical skills with experience developing performance metrics, reporting, and supplier review processes.
- Commercially minded with a track record of identifying opportunities that drive value, cost savings, or service improvements.
- Experience driving adoption of new programs, processes, or services through effective change management.
- Highly organized with strong project management skills and the ability to execute in a complex, decentralized environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or similar analytics tools preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience launching and growing strategic supplier or procurement programs.
- Background in hospitality, property management, residential services, community management, or other multi-site organizations.
- Demonstrated success increasing program utilization, stakeholder engagement, and measurable business outcomes.
