    Membership Services Manager

    Job Summary

    IEEE is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Membership Services Manager to lead the Member Operations function within the Member and Geographic Activities (MGA) organization. This role is responsible for overseeing the teams, processes, and financial operations that support the membership lifecycle, including the processing of applications and payments for new and renewing members and affiliates. The position also provides leadership for global programs such as Senior Member elevations and Geo-Unit inaugurations, helping to support IEEE members and volunteers worldwide.

    The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, foster a culture of continuous improvement, and ensure exceptional service delivery through effective team management, process optimization, project execution, and financial oversight. Key responsibilities include staff development, operational planning, vendor management, budget administration, forecasting, and cross-functional collaboration.

    What You'll Do

    • Lead and develop a high-performing Member Operations team.
    • Oversee membership application and renewal processing activities.
    • Manage global member programs, including Senior Member elevations and Geo-Unit inaugurations.
    • Drive process improvements and operational excellence initiatives.
    • Manage departmental budgets, forecasts, invoices, and vendor relationships.
    • Ensure high-quality support for members, volunteers, and internal stakeholders.
    • Lead projects and collaborate across teams to improve service delivery and organizational effectiveness.

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience or other related technical degree. Req

    • 4-7 years managing business operations in a production environment. Req

    Skills and Requirements

    • Financial Skills: Proficiency in budget development, forecasting, and analysis.
    • Management History: Experience in managing and supporting employees at various levels in customer service, operations, or administration.
    • Global Mindset: Must possess the knowledge and dispositional characteristics to operate in multi-cultural situations.
    • Technical Savvy: Technologically savvy knowledge worker who is familiar with new technologies, and seeks out effective technology solutions to business challenges.
    • Resource Allocation: Ability to prioritize work for self and others and successfully allocate resources (staff expertise, energy, headcount).
    • Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills with very strong attention to detail.
    • Project Management: Effective time and project management skills with experience leading process and technology-oriented programs.
    • Willingness to work occasionally other than normal business hours as required to support global organization operations.
    • Mobility:, both domestically and internationally, which may include some weekends.
