    POSITION: Manager, Manufacturing Engineer

    LOCATION: Bothell, WA

    GENERAL SUMMARY

    In this position, you will focus on developing strategies that ensure high quality, boost efficiency, and increase profit margins. This may involve changing assembly line organization and implementing upgrades to manufacturing or test equipment. You will own the continuous improvement of test and process validation procedures, guiding engineers on how best to approach validation in production to ensure sufficient monitoring and control of manufacturing processes. You will work directly with the Operations, Quality and Design engineering teams to support the growing manufacturing needs of our products.

    We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer Manager to: Manage and lead manufacturing and test equipment/processes and also Manage equipment calibration.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, industrial, mechanical, or related engineering field
    • Minimum of 7 years' experience in Manufacturing Engineering and/or Automation/Test Engineering
    • Minimum of 2 years' experience managing, preferably in the medical device field.

    Preferred Education

    • Master's degree
    • DMAIC or Six Sigma certifications

    Preferred Experience

    • Excellent communication and documentation skills. Must be able to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
    • Takes initiative, effectively prioritizes work and manages others.
    • Durable medical equipment or medical device experience
    • Strong analytical skills and excellent problem-solving skills
    • Experience with Lean/DMAIC/Six Sigma methods
    • Ability to assimilate data, recognize key variables and develop/control input/output relationships.
    • Familiar with data acquisition hardware tools from National Instruments and pneumatic instrumentation
    • Experienced with GD&T and fixturing design principles.
    • Strong understanding of statistical techniques such as Attribute Analysis, ANOVA, GaugeRR and control charts; experience with JMP, Minitab, or other statistical analysis software a plus
    • Knowledge of test and process validation documentation structure and required elements.
    • Experience using CAD or CAM software.
    • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure.
    • Computer proficient; confident using data analysis programs and Microsoft Suite
    • Ability to work towards outcomes. Does not confuse efforts with results.

    DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Ensure systems remain functional and stable over time.
    • Leads and resolves manufacturing issues. For more complex issues, leads cross-functional teams to help define problems, measure contributing factors, analyze results, improve product quality, and help develop plans for maintaining product quality.
    • Responsible for managing facility equipment calibration.
    • Responsible for maintaining a strong collaborative partnership with cross-functional team members that facilitates organizational success.
    • Assures product and process quality and compliance by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing process capability.
    • Coordinate with upper management to align with overall company goals.
    • Advocates on behalf of team members by securing adequate resources for success.
    • Manages resource allocation and assigns tasks to engineering and technical personnel.
    • Mentor and coach team members on industry best practices
    • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer''s instructions and established procedures.
    • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
    • Reviews and approves design and manufacturing changes. Perform DFM, PFMEA, and/or related analysis when applicable.
    • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
    • Helps to create and oversee project budgets and engages in cost management strategies.
    • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
    • Attends and participates in departmental meetings. Attends seminars and training sessions necessary to maintain appropriate level of professional competence.
    • Ensures all department compliance guidelines are met.
    • Attends all meetings, in-services training, or continuing education as delegated by the supervisor.
    • Provides customer focused interactions.
    • Performs all duties necessary for the department as per department policies and procedures.
    • Performs other duties and responsibilities as delegated by the supervisor within the scope of practice and the responsibilities in the department.
