    What We Do - Accountabilities

    • Assures safe and efficient operation of the distribution center equipment by structured proactive preventative maintenance of equipment, and quick reaction to breakdowns to minimize mechanical downtime.
    • Assures implementation, and continuous improvement of strategies to meet long-term corporate-wide logistics needs through partnering with the Operations staff to offer solutions and to partner with external entities to fix and update systems as necessary.
    • Assures leader growth and development by maintaining a robust development and training program focused on growing existing and future leaders and increasing individuals potential for growth.
    • Assures workforce engagement in core company values and through the effective execution of HR, LP and Safety policy and programs.
    • Assures budget requirements and controlled expenses are met by regular monitoring of maintenance budget and forecasts, and timely submission of expense reports.

    Essential Functions

    • Controls budget through continued cost comparisons, process evaluation, and efficient use of personnel.
    • Assures adequate inventory and tracking of spare parts, tools, and components through local and national vendors, and maintains vendor relationships.
    • Coordinates efforts between Landlord, outside contractors and company personnel to accomplish special projects and inspections.
    • Provide leadership, training, development and mentorship for Supervisors and Technicians.
    • Implement succession planning for team.
    • Actively embraces continuous improvement through improvement of self as much as improvement of team, processes and environment, with a focus on best practices.
    • Create a culture of ownership and participation.
    • Formulates flexible tactical operating plans to forecast, set goals, and plan projects and scheduled maintenance events
    • Maximizes use of fixed assets.
    • Subject matter expert, able to train staff on a variety of maintenance related topics (lock out tag out, fall protection, OSHA compliance, mechanical and electrical repairs, diagnostics, electrical circuits and drawings, PLC logic development, fabrication, preventative maintenance, etc.)
    • Strong knowledge of skilled trades such as, electricity, mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics and plumbing and is proficient in reading / understanding blueprints and technical schematics
    • In-depth knowledge and previous experience working with high-speed conveyance systems and all components
    • Responsible for spearheading mechanization improvement projects, inclusive of design, development and implementation
    • Ensures company policies are communicated, understood, and administered.
    • Maintains a safe, secure and healthy work environment, able to show year-on-year improvements in accident and injury statistics.
    • Oversees site safety programs; implements proactive safety protocols.

    • Partners effectively with own leadership team, as well as with teams and peers off site at other Distribution facilities and at the corporate office.

    Preferred Qualifications & Education

    • Previous facilities maintenance or maintenance technician experience 7+ years
    • Previous leadership experience in industrial environment 7+ years
    • Previous automated conveyor experience
    • Previous success in completing mechanical / electrical training programs; Moderate to advanced mechanical and electrical knowledge base.
    • Training qualifications in maintenance disciplines
    • Must maintain professional demeanor and appearance at all times
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds with or without an accommodation
    • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
