Job Description
About the Role
We’re looking for a Senior Lifecycle Copywriter to join Visa Creative Studio as we continue building a best-in-class global creative team for Visa and the clients we serve.
This role is for a sharp, customer-focused writer who understands how copy works across the full customer journey — from awareness and onboarding to activation, education, retention, loyalty, engagement and win-back. The ideal candidate combines strong copy craft, strategic thinking and deep lifecycle marketing expertise across email, CRM, landing pages, and digital journeys.
This person should be able to translate briefs, audience insights and journey strategies into clear, useful and action-oriented communications. They must understand how to write for segmented audiences, different lifecycle stages and multiple business objectives while maintaining brand voice, clarity, compliance sensitivity and a high creative standard.
The art of writing is crucial. This person must be a strong hands-on writer who can create subject lines, preheaders, headlines, body copy, calls to action, modular content and journey-based messaging that is concise, effective and customer-first. They should understand how copy and design work together to guide attention, improve comprehension and drive action.
This role also requires strong proficiency with AI tools. The candidate should actively use AI platforms, automation tools and emerging creative technologies to improve writing workflows, generate and refine copy variations, scale content development, support testing and personalization, and increase speed without compromising craft, brand quality or compliance standards.
They must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects, collaborating with strategists, designers, marketers, product teams, legal, compliance, analytics and operations partners, and using performance insights to improve communications over time.
Effortless collaboration is a must, as this role will work closely with internal teams and client partners to ensure best-in-class lifecycle creative is delivered across every touchpoint.
What you’ll do:
Build a Center of Creative Excellence
Lead by example by bringing strong copy craft to every brief, from quick-turn lifecycle assets to larger journey-based programs.
Write lifecycle marketing copy across email, CRM, landing pages, onboarding flows, nurture campaigns, product education, re-engagement programs, loyalty communications and other digital engagement touchpoints.
Develop subject lines, preheaders, headlines, body copy, calls to action, modular content and journey-based messaging.
Translate marketing briefs, audience insights and journey strategies into clear, actionable communications.
Write for different customer segments, lifecycle stages, products, markets and business objectives.
Create copy variations for A/B testing, personalization, segmentation and optimization.
Use AI tools responsibly and proficiently to accelerate drafting, versioning, testing, optimization and workflow efficiency.
Maintain an active understanding of emerging AI platforms, automation tools and creative technologies, applying them to improve quality, speed and scalability.
Ensure copy is concise, useful, compliant, accessible and easy for customers to understand.
Care deeply about every part of the funnel — upper funnel, middle funnel and lower funnel — because every asset matters.
Build relationships
Collaborate closely with lifecycle strategists, designers, marketing teams, creative leads, project managers, product partners, legal, compliance, analytics and operations teams.
Partner with designers to ensure copy and visual hierarchy work together effectively.
Build and maintain strong relationships with Marketing executives and client partners by demonstrating a deep understanding of lifecycle marketing needs and a commitment to creative excellence.
Present copy ideas, messaging rationale and optimization recommendations clearly and confidently.
Manage revisions through stakeholder review, legal review, brand review and final approval.
Help maintain reusable copy modules, templates, messaging frameworks and lifecycle content standards.
Build upon a culture that fosters remarkable creativity
Contribute to a culture of remarkable creativity by bringing inspiration, curiosity, experimentation and a passion for the craft of writing.
Be proactive in exploring how AI can improve creative workflows, support scale and help the team work smarter.
Hold a high bar for quality across every touchpoint, from first draft to final delivery.
Bring a customer-focused mindset to every assignment, simplifying complex information into clear, useful language.
Be part of a culture where people love to work, feel they can flourish and are proud of what they contribute.
