As a key member of the Global Medical Affairs (GMA) organization, the Manager, LATAM Grants & Global Medical Affairs Operations is responsible for the compliant, efficient, and transparent operational management of the LATAM grants program (approximately 75% of role scope), along with select Global Medical Affairs operational initiatives (approximately 25%), including advisory boards and special projects.

This role leads the end-to-end lifecycle of all LATAM reactive grant requests, including application intake, review, processing, and post-award management, and will ensure alignment with company policies, regional requirements, and global compliance standards. The Manager will also serve as a key point of contact for LATAM grant applicants, providing internal/external guidance and technical support.

In addition, this role will support the broader GMA – Medical Excellence efforts, including coordination and execution of cross-functional initiatives such as advisory boards, process improvements, and other strategic projects that enhance organizational effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

LATAM Grants Management (75%)
  • Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of LATAM grant funding, including intake, review, approval coordination, payment processing and tracking, and close-out
  • Review grant applications for completeness, scientific and patient community alignment, and compliance with organizational policies
  • Develops and maintains a strong understanding of the LATAM medical education and patient community landscape, including proactively learning about and assessing grant applicant organizations to inform funding decisions and ensure alignment with strategic and compliance priorities
  • Provide timely and professional support to external applicants, including technical assistance on application requirements and processes
  • Coordinate and support grant review committees as needed, including preparation of materials and documentation of decisions
  • Manage contract execution and grant payments in partnership with Legal, Compliance, Finance, and Accounting
  • Establish and maintain clear standards, timelines, and required documentation for LATAM grant submissions
  • Monitor post-award reporting requirements and ensure appropriate tracking of deliverables and outcomes
  • Maintain accurate, audit-ready documentation for all LATAM grant activities
  • Contribute to global reporting needs, including ad hoc analyses and corporate transparency initiatives
 Global Medical Affairs Operations (25%) 
  • Support the planning and execution of Global Medical Affairs initiatives, including advisory boards and other cross-functional projects
  • Coordinate logistics, documentation, and compliance requirements for GMA-led activities
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (Medical, Legal, Compliance, PMO, etc.) to ensure successful execution of global initiatives
  • Contribute to development and implementation of best practices to improve operational excellence within GMA
  • Support additional strategic or operational projects as assigned

Requirements / Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 3-5 years experience in a grants management related role with demonstrated ability to collaborate across a matrix organization.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Fluency in Spanish or Brazilian Portuguese.
  • Excellent attention to detail; strong project management skills and ability to monitor and meet deadlines.
  • Experienced use of grants management systems, as well as Microsoft systems, Smartsheet, payment software (i.e., Oracle).
  • Excellent computer skills, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
