How you will contribute

As we continue to expand, A&M Energy is seeking Managers with deep Finance & Accounting (F&A) experience within the Energy sector to support our private equity and corporate clients. Our F&A professionals work alongside CFOs and finance leadership teams to address critical business challenges, improve finance performance, support transactions, and execute complex transformation initiatives.

Successful candidates will bring experience across many of the following areas:

  • Finance Transformation & Performance Improvement: Finance functional effectiveness; finance operating model design; cost reduction and cost takeout; process improvement; organizational effectiveness
  • End-to-End Finance Processes: Record-to-Report (R2R); Order-to-Cash (O2C); Procure-to-Pay (P2P); financial close and reporting; process optimization
  • Energy Finance & Accounting: Revenue accounting; revenue close processes; production accounting and gas measurement; PP&A processing; corporate reserve advisory; external reporting and financial statement close advisory
  • Transaction Support: F&A due diligence and transaction support; integration and separation planning; finance function readiness; synergy and cost opportunity assessment
  • Accounting, Controls & Reporting: Internal audit; internal controls and SOX; SEC and external reporting; GAAP accounting matters; external audit support
  • Planning & Analysis: Financial planning and analysis; management reporting; performance management; cost management
  • Finance Systems & Technology: Finance systems transformation, implementation and integration, including experience with Energy and enterprise platforms such as Enertia, Quorum, ProCount and SAP

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead F&A transformation, performance improvement, and transaction-related engagements for private equity and corporate clients across the Energy sector
  • Lead workstreams and project teams to deliver high-quality work within established timelines
  • Partner with CFOs, finance leaders, and other senior client stakeholders to identify critical business and finance issues and develop actionable solutions
  • Assess finance organizations, processes, operating models, systems, and capabilities to identify opportunities for improved performance
  • Evaluate and validate analyses and develop recommendations in the context of the overall engagement
  • Develop and implement recommendations related to finance process improvement, cost optimization, operating model design, controls, and organizational effectiveness
  • Structure complex problems and synthesize financial, operational, and organizational insights into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Build client-ready presentations and deliverables that communicate complex findings in a clear, concise, and compelling manner
  • Implement and oversee the quality of project deliverables
  • Effectively manage project teams and day-to-day client relationships to ensure exceptional performance
  • Collaborate with A&M s industry, transaction, operations, and functional experts to deliver integrated solutions for clients
  • Participate in the development and presentation of proposals and support broader business development and client relationship activities
  • Coach and develop junior team members while contributing to the continued growth of the A&M Energy practice

Required Skillset:

  • Strong Finance & Accounting foundation with experience advising or working within complex Energy organizations
  • Prior management consulting and/or public accounting experience; Big Four experience strongly preferred
  • CPA required
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end finance processes, including Record-to-Report, Order-to-Cash, and Procure-to-Pay
  • Experience across finance transformation, performance improvement, accounting advisory, and/or transaction-related F&A initiatives
  • Strong knowledge and application of GAAP
  • Demonstrated Energy industry knowledge with experience addressing sector-specific finance and accounting challenges
  • Ability to structure ambiguous problems, perform and oversee complex analyses, and translate findings into actionable recommendations
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead workstreams, manage teams, and operate across multiple priorities
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to develop executive-level presentations and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders
  • Experience with finance and ERP systems; systems implementation and/or integration experience is highly desirable
  • Exposure to private equity clients and large corporate clients is a strong advantage
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Comfortable with travel (domestic and international)

Qualifications

  • 4-8+ years of relevant experience in management consulting, public accounting, and/or industry roles with a focus on Finance & Accounting
  • Demonstrated experience in the Energy industry, either through consulting engagements or in-house roles
  • CPA required
  • Prior Big Four consulting or public accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge and application of GAAP
  • Demonstrated experience across one or more core F&A areas, including finance transformation, accounting and reporting, finance process improvement, transaction support, cost optimization, and/or finance operating model design
  • Experience with Energy-specific finance and accounting processes such as revenue accounting, production accounting, gas measurement, PP&A, reserve advisory, and/or revenue close is highly desirable
  • Proven ability to manage client engagements, own deliverables, lead client communication, and manage and develop project teams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Finance systems implementation and integration experience, including exposure to platforms such as Enertia, Quorum, ProCount, and/or SAP, is a plus
  • Client-facing experience required, with the ability to present to and build relationships with senior finance and business stakeholders
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, strong attention to detail, and the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced and ambiguous environments

The salary range is $135,000-$160,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography. In addition, A&M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on a number of factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.
