    GENERAL DESCRIPTION OR PURPOSE OF JOB:
     
    This role is a key finance partner to the leadership of Jostens. The finance manager provides, implements, oversees, and operates the controls necessary to ensure accurate and timely accounting, reporting, and payments to appropriate parties. The position manages financial planning and analysis for business units and is responsible for the P&L and Balance Sheet accounting and reporting.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES – In any job with supervisory responsibilities, the following are an explicit part of the incumbent’s responsibilities and essential functions:

    • Participate in decisions related to the selection, promotion, transfer, pay and discipline of assigned personnel.
    • Clearly communicate job duties and responsibilities to enable individuals to proceed with certainty in the performance of their positions.
    • Monitor the work performance of assigned personnel on a continual basis; conduct effective performance reviews; take corrective action whenever necessary and, where necessary, work with HR Generalists to establish performance improvement plans.
    • Support the development of assigned personnel’s skills and abilities, and demonstrate by personal example the desired standards of conduct (Jostens values) and work performance.
    • Identify and resolve skill gaps and succession issues.
    • Administer Company policies with regard to discipline, absenteeism, etc., in a fair and equitable manner, and fully document all incidents and actions taken.
    • Involve assigned HR Generalist on compliance issues such as pay equity, equal opportunity in hiring and promotions, and proper procedures for hiring, terminations, lay-offs, etc.

    Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance
    • Minimum of 7+ years’ related professional experience
    • Database/ERP Skills such as Oracle/EDW
    • Advanced level skills with Excel and Access
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization
    • Ability and experience with presenting to management groups and senior-level executives
    • Excellent analytical skills in digging into data to uncover actionable insights
    • Intellectual curiosity
    • Results-oriented strategic thinker with the ability to challenge the status quo and implement change
    • Ability to understand complex business relationships and impacts
     
    Preferred:
    • Advanced degree or CPA license/certificate
    • Supervisory experience

    Position: Manager, Finance - College/Pro Division
    Date:  10/10/2022
    Details:
     
    • Partner with College/Pro Division leadership on strategic initiatives and leads analysis that drive growth.
    • Provide, implement, oversee, and operate the controls necessary to ensure accurate and timely accounting, reporting, and payments of school, bookstore, rep, and other organization commissions.
    • Responsible for the P&L and Balance Sheet accounting and reporting.
    • Responsible for management of all accounting, reporting, commission and contract payments to schools, bookstores and professional organizations. In addition, manage all rep bonuses and awards.
    • Manage Financial Planning & Analysis for the College/Pro division. Key business partner in interpreting metrics trends and providing reporting and analysis. Provide analysis on key initiatives.
     
     
    POSITION ADDENDUM
    Position: Manager, Finance – Emerging Markets
    Date:  9/4/2024
    Details:
     
    • This role is a key finance partner to the leadership of the Emerging Markets Division. This role provides, implements, oversees, and operates the controls necessary to ensure accurate and timely accounting, reporting, and payments of school and sales rep commissions for the Emerging Markets division. In addition, the position manages financial planning and analysis for the four Emerging Markets Business Units: Photography, Small Book, Commercial Print, and International. Responsible for the P&L and Balance Sheet accounting and reporting.
    • Manage Financial Planning & Analysis for Emerging Markets. Key business partner in interpreting metrics trends and providing reporting and analysis.  Provide analysis on key initiatives.
    • Responsible for management of all accounting, reporting, and commission payments to schools and sales reps
    • Data modeling, validation, analysis, and visualization
     
    POSITION ADDENDUM
    Position: Manager, Finance – SGA
    Date:  5/7/19
    Reports To: Director FP&A
     
    Details:
    • Accounting and Control functions for SG&A functions:
    • Work with functional managers on variance analysis for actual vs plan results
    • Continued development of tools to aid in analysis of SG&A spend, including identifying and analyzing key business indicators
    • Manage and perform the consolidation and reporting of monthly, quarterly and annual expenses
    • Identify and analyze key business indicators
    • Approve balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts as well as approve journal entries according to SOX controls
    • Develop, enhance, manage and conduct the annual planning process and monthly forecasts for SGA.
    • Manage and perform accounting and financial analytic support for business initiatives and special projects in SG&A. Lead and/or participate on project teams providing related cost analysis, financial and business modeling. Define and establish related accounting and financial procedures and controls.
