RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position provides oversight of all NYCT Subway's facility construction efforts not managed by MTA C&D for all owned and leased properties. Responsible for the management and oversight of several multi-million-dollar capital construction projects rehabilitating facilities utilizing both in-house represented labor and outsourced contracted labor. This position will be involved in all project lifecycle phases including planning, scheduling, analysis, design, technical specifications, and reporting. It requires expertise in the design and construction of architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural, and furniture, as well as expertise in reviewing design drawing assuring conformity to NYS Building Code and facility specifications. Responds to emergencies/critical occurrences on a 24/7 basis.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field and eight (8) years of full-time related experience and two (2) years of managerial/supervisory/administrative experience.

A satisfactory combination of education and experience.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Experience performing site inspections, documenting conditions and construction activities, coordinating with end users and contractors, and responding contractor requests for information
  • Proficient in AutoCAD
  • NYS RA License Preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction methodology, materials, finishes, and furniture specifications
  • Knowledge of capital design and construction processes across all project phases
  • Experience leading meetings with internal stakeholders and external consultants
  • Proficient in developing project schedules, inspection reports, and tracking tools
  • Understanding of construction details including stair, roof, infrastructure, and office design
  • Knowledge of NY State and ADA codes as they relate to inspections and drawing reviews
  • Comfortable conducting field visits and site inspections in stations and train yards
