    Overview:

    Lead emergency care where every decision matters. Methodist Hospitals is seeking an experienced and visionary Emergency Department Nurse Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership for our two high-volume Emergency Departments at the Northlake Campus in Gary and the Southlake Campus in Merrillville.

    This is one of the hospital's most vital nursing leadership positions, overseeing teams that deliver lifesaving care 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. As Nurse Manager, you will be responsible for the daily operations, clinical excellence, quality outcomes, financial performance, patient experience and staff engagement across two fast-paced emergency departments that serve thousands of patients each year. Methodist Hospitals has served as Northwest Indiana's Regional Coordination Center for Emergency Services since 1975, providing advanced emergency care around the clock.

    Working collaboratively with physicians, nursing leaders and multidisciplinary teams, you will foster a culture of clinical excellence, accountability, innovation and compassionate care while mentoring and developing the next generation of emergency nursing professionals.     Responsibilities:

    PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(*Essential Functions)

    1. Assumes responsibility for productivity and budgetary requirements.
    2. Ensures patient satisfaction by supervising and evaluating the caliber of treatment and care of the patient.
    3. Manages staff to ensure quality clinical outcome measures.
    4. Provides clinical oversight to assigned patient population to include staff's competency and assignments.
    Qualifications:

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS(Minimum Requirements)

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

    • Thorough knowledge of clinical assessment and medical equipment.
    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills and critical thinking skills.
    • Ability to multi-task.
    • Ability to lead and direct the work of others.
    • Ability to provide a positive attitude and support the organization and work with team members.
    • Must be courteous, kind, compassionate and caring.


    EDUCATION

    • Bachelors Nursing Required
    • 4 Years RN ER Staff Nurse Required
    • Licensed Registered Nurse
    • Certified Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation
