Curiosity Cafe Manager Job Description

Wage: $17-20/hour

Shift: 30-39 hours per week. Mon-Sat, 9am-4pm.

Summary: The Curiosity Café Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of Curiosity Cafe at the Museum of Natural Curiosity. This is a fun, fast paced environment serving meals to museum guests and team members.

Responsibilities:

• Manage the daily operation and needs of the Café.
• Supervise a small team of 3-4 team members including hiring, training, scheduling and mentoring.
• Ensures the Café is stocked and meets all standards of cleanliness and quality, including making orders, and sending daily emails for restocking.
• Assists guests with needs and complaints.
• Taking orders, cooking, cleaning and other duties relating to the Café.
• Plan for different levels of business needs during peak and slow times.
• Help the team prepare food and take orders.
• Prepare the end of month financial report and daily sales and labor tracking.
• Attend management meetings as needed.
• Exemplify Thanksgiving Point's Mission, Values, and Policies.
• Other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor.

Requirements:

• At least 1-2 years of leadership experience.
• Previous restaurant experience is preferred.
• Proficient computer skills including working with Excel and Word.
• Motivational approach to managing a team.
• Strong communication skills.
• At least 18 years old.
• Must pass a background check.
• Must pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check to drive for work.
