Manager, Corporate Accounting

Position OverviewThe Manager, Corporate Accounting is responsible for all the accounting activities of Porsche Cars North America (PCNA), Porsche Logistics Services (PLS) and Porsche Cars Canada (PCL). Primary responsibilities include IFRS reporting for PCNA, PLS and PCL financial statements; routine reporting to North American senior management and parent company in accordance with IFRS Standards; support in the preparation of consolidated financial statements for all Porsche North America entities. Additional responsibilities include determining and implementing accounting policies and procedures to ensure financial statements are in line with current IFRS guidance. The Manager, Corporate Accounting, will implement, maintain and improve the internal controls over financial reporting and is the main counterpart for the auditors performing the quarterly reviews and annual audits.Strong analytical, accounting and communication skills are necessary for this position. This role requires the ability to work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. This position reports to the Director, Corporate Accounting & Controlling. The Manager, Corporate Accounting, works closely with the CFO, operating executives and managers, and with the parent company. The role actively participates in the monthly close meetings with the CFO.This role has management responsibilities over a team of accountants (overall team of 7 accountants) and to make sure that the team consistently delivers a high quality of work.Roles & ResponsibilitiesResponsibility for the accounting and the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting of PCNA, PLS and PCLActive participation in the monthly close meetings with the CFOSupervise and manage a team of accountantsEstablish strategic and department level goals for department and direct reportsProvides guidance and support to direct reports by planning, monitoring, coaching, developing, recognizing and assessing individualsEnsure the implementation of new accounting policies and proceduresImplement, maintain and improve internal controls over financial reporting for PCNAMain contact person for the auditors of the financial statements on a quarterly and annual basisProvide support and technical accounting maintenance for procure to pay system (Zycus)All other duties as assignedProvide details to the treasury department for cash flow forecastsVarious US Government reports (annually, monthly or quarterly)Balance sheet projections (3 times a year)Supervise the analyses and maintenance of various general ledger and subsidiary accounts and recordsRespond to frequent parent company questions and requests for additional analyses in a timely and professional mannerWork with the Shared Services organization on issue resolutionQualificationsEducation:Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or equivalent required. Advanced degree and/or CPA preferredExperience8-10 years of experience in full cycle accountingMust have experience with month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliationsExperience leading an accounting departmentSkillsDetail oriented analytical skills with a high degree of accuracyAbility to multi-task and critically review work completed by other team membersSolid understanding of advanced accounting principles, financial management tools and conceptsStrong communication and presentation skills – both written and verbalAbility to interact with of all levels of the organization in a team environmentDemonstrated leadership and self‑directionDemonstrated willingness to both teach others and learn new techniquesExperience translating analysis results into business recommendationsStrong computer skills, especially MS Excel and PowerPointSAP FI/CO experience highly desirablePercentage of required travel: up to 2-3 times per year (as needed)Schedule/Shift: HybridThe salary range for this role is $135,000-$160,000. However, it is important to note that at Porsche, compensation range is dependent on geographic location. Individual salaries within each range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skillset.
