Worldwide Retail Growth and Development (WWRGD) is seeking a Manager of Construction Management to lead the delivery of new Whole Foods Market stores and Amazon physical retail spaces across the western United States. In this role, you will own the regional construction pipeline from site acquisition handoff through design, construction execution, and operational turnover, ensuring each project is delivered safely, on budget, on schedule, and to Amazon"s quality standards.
You will directly manage a team of up to six Construction Managers, providing coaching, workload allocation, and professional development while maintaining accountability for the full portfolio of active and upcoming projects in your region. You will set the standard for how your team engages with developers, general contractors, and regulatory authorities, and you will serve as the senior escalation point for commercial, technical, and schedule issues across the pipeline.
Internally, you will partner closely with Real Estate, Design, Store Operations, Procurement, Design and Finance to align pipeline priorities, sequence investments, and remove barriers to delivery. You will represent the construction function in portfolio reviews, providing clear reporting on project health, risks, and resource needs to senior leadership.
This role requires deep experience in ground up retail or commercial construction, proven ability to lead and develop project teams, and the commercial judgment to manage a multi project pipeline with competing priorities. You will bring a disciplined approach to safety leadership, budget governance, schedule management, contract strategy, and stakeholder communication at both the project and portfolio level.
This role requires regional travel (up to 50%) and availability to work from a corporate office when not traveling. Candidates should either live near or be willing to relocate within a reasonable commuting distance of the office.
