Overview:

The Compliance Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the company’s Compliance Program focusing on FERC regulated interstate natural gas and prodcuts pipelines, ensuring adherence to applicable federal, state, and industry regulations across all business units. This position manages compliance processes, policies, documentation, training, and audit readiness while supervising a Compliance Analyst. The Compliance Manager works closely with Legal, Commerical, Human Resources, Information Governance, and executive leadership to maintain and strengthen a culture of ethics, accountability, and regulatory compliance within Kinder Morgan.

 

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee the company’s FERC Compliance Program for interstate natural gas and products pipelines, including policy development, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement
  • Complaince Manager will also manage compliance with other legal and regulatory requirements that apply across Kinder Morgans' business units, e.g, Anti-Corruption, and Trade Control laws  
  • Manage a team consisting of a Compliance Analyst, and work closely and coordinate with other personnel from other Departments and functions
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements through administration, maintenance and development of the Compliance Program
  • Develop, maintain, and enforce internal policies, procedures, and controls across business units
  • Oversee compliance documentation consistency across regions and operational groups
  • Manage internal audits, compliance reviews, risk assessments, and regulatory reporting activities
  • Partner with Legal, HR, Operations, Information Governance, and leadership teams to address compliance risks and corrective actions
  • Monitor regulatory developments and communicate business impacts and recommendations to management
  • Oversee compliance training initiatives, learning management systems, and employee education programs
  • Ensure proper maintenance of compliance records, SharePoint sites, network drives, and related documentation systems
  • Support executive leadership and the Chief Compliance Officer with reporting, presentations, board materials, and regulatory preparation
  • Assist with investigations related to compliance concerns, ethics matters, or policy violations

Promote operational excellence, ethical business practices, and continuous improvement throughout the organization     

Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Legal Studies, Compliance, Environmental Science, Finance, or related field required
  • 7+ years of compliance, legal, regulatory, audit, or risk management experience, preferably within the oil and gas or energy industry
  • Strong working knowledge of FERC regulations and other applicable energy industry compliance requirements
  • Experience managing compliance programs, audits, investigations, and policy governance
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and compliance management systems
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail 
  •  Excellent organizational, planning and time management skillsWork well independently as well as with teams
  • Interact with a wide variety of peopl with tact, courtesy, and professionalism
  •  Based in Houston Headquarters with a Hybrid work schedule based on business needs
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
