Manager, Commercial Finance

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Manager, Commercial Finance to join a global Commercial Finance organization and serve as a key finance business partner to the Americas Regional Vice President (RVP).

This is a high-visibility role supporting commercial leadership across multiple global business lines. The ideal candidate is a strategic finance professional with strong FP&A, commercial finance, business partnering, forecasting, budgeting, and P&L management experience.

Candidates with experience in Life Sciences, Diagnostics, Analytical Instruments, Medical Devices, or other related healthcare/technology industries are highly preferred.

The successful candidate will be comfortable operating independently in a complex, matrixed organization and translating financial data into actionable insights that drive commercial decisions and profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Business Partnering

• Serve as a trusted finance business partner to cross-functional leadership, including the Americas Regional Vice President and commercial leadership.
• Partner with commercial, operations, and finance teams to support strategic planning and business reviews.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior leaders to support business decisions.
• Navigate ambiguity and proactively identify financial risks, opportunities, and business drivers.
• Present financial findings and actionable recommendations to senior leadership.

Forecasting, Budgeting & P&L Management

• Own driver-based forecasting and budgeting processes across the Americas region.
• Manage and analyze regional P&L performance, identifying key business drivers and trends.
• Lead monthly variance analysis and communicate significant deviations from plan.
• Support financial planning activities and ensure forecasts align with SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning).
• Analyze price, volume, and mix and assess cost variances versus prior year and AOP.
• Identify and quantify risks and opportunities and proactively communicate potential financial impacts.

Financial Analysis

• Perform complex P&L analysis, variance analysis, trend identification, and financial modeling.
• Translate complex financial information into clear, actionable business insights.
• Support commercial leadership in evaluating growth opportunities and financial performance.
• Provide data-driven recommendations to improve profitability and overall business performance.

Systems, Reporting & Process Improvement

• Utilize advanced Excel and financial systems to analyze, model, and report financial performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, reporting, automation, and internal controls.
• Develop and lead initiatives that improve efficiency, accuracy, and financial visibility.
• Leverage technology and AI tools where appropriate to enhance finance processes.

People Leadership

• Manage and develop one direct report.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and professional development.
• Share best practices and promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• 7+ years of financial planning and analysis (FP&A) experience.
• At least 4 years of experience in Commercial Finance, Finance Business Partnering, or a similar strategic finance role.
• Demonstrated experience partnering with cross-functional business leadership.
• Strong experience with driver-based forecasting, budgeting, and P&L management.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Fluent in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Life Sciences, Diagnostics, Analytical Instruments, Medical Devices, or a related healthcare/technology industry.
• Experience working in a global, matrixed, multicultural organization.
• Demonstrated success partnering with senior business leaders and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to operate independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience presenting financial analysis and recommendations to senior leadership.
• Previous people-management or direct supervisory experience preferred, but not required.

Financial Systems & Technology

Experience with one or more of the following is preferred:

• SAP
• FCC / Financial Consolidation & Close
• Oracle
• Cloud-based financial systems
• Hyperion / HFM / Essbase
• Business Objects
• Advanced Excel

Experience using AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or finance-specific AI platforms to automate, streamline, or enhance finance processes is a plus.

The ideal candidate is a Commercial Finance / FP&A professional who combines strong financial expertise with exceptional business-partnering skills.

The strongest candidates will have:

• Finance business partnering experience with cross-functional leadership
• Advanced Excel and financial systems experience, including SAP, FCC, Cloud, or Oracle
• Strong driver-based forecasting, budgeting, and P&L management experience
• Industry experience in Life Sciences, Diagnostics, Analytical Instruments, Medical Devices, or a closely related industry
• Experience working with senior leadership in a global or matrixed organization
• The ability to turn financial analysis into clear recommendations that influence business decisions
