Summary
Provides leadership and direction for the clinical and business operation of adult, pediatric, and mobile services. Ensures tests/procedures are in accordance with the required and designated standards.Job Description
Understands Cardiac Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS). Works in partnership with other healthcare professionals. Adheres to safety and infection control policies established by Sanford. Possesses knowledge in cardiac sonography. Ability to perform echocardiography tests/procedures in accordance with the American Society of Echocardiography standards as necessary. Engages in quality improvement and analysis as well as policy and procedure maintenance. Responsible for workflow scheduling and maintenance. Performs administrative roles for the interviewing, hiring, and performance management processes. Prepares patients for exams by explaining procedures, transferring patients to ultrasound table, applying gel, and positioning patients properly. When applicable, operates ultrasound equipment to produce and record images of the motion, shape, and composition of blood, organs, tissues, or bodily masses, such as fluid accumulations. Adheres to established internal standards and procedures abstracted from health insurance portability and accountability (HIPPA). Supervise or train students and cardiac sonographers as needed. Implements or oversees the accreditation process. Responsible for implementation of efficient workflows, policies, and protocols. Acts as a professional resource to all staff. Participates in enterprise standardization.Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited two-year Cardiac Ultrasound Program or a minimum of one year equivalent work experience or an allied health certificate/diploma preferred.Sanford is an EEO/AA Employer M/F/Disability/Vet.
