What You'll Do

Business Operations at Slalom owns the end-to-end operational health of our markets and accounts-driving annual planning, managing pipeline and forecasting, supporting engagement setup, monitoring financial performance, and delivering clear, actionable reporting. We work as trusted operational partners to our market leaders, ensuring clarity in priorities, consistency in processes, and confidence in how the business is performing.

The Business Operations Manager plays a critical leadership role in this function, overseeing the operational performance of Slalom's South Central market. This position blends strategic influence with hands-on execution: acting as a trusted advisor to senior leaders while also directly supporting one or more portfolios as a player-coach. The role carries a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Market Leader and operates as her right hand-owning the market's rhythm of business, anticipating what's needed before it's asked for, and connecting the dots across the organization to keep priorities moving. The Business Operations Manager ensures operational excellence, and drives alignment between global initiatives and local needs.

Responsibilities include:

Strategic Leadership & Influence

  • Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to market leadership, providing data-driven insights and clear recommendations.
  • Influence priorities and decision-making across the market to ensure alignment with regional and global strategies.
  • Communicate persuasively across diverse audiences, simplifying complex concepts into compelling narratives for senior leaders.

Act as the connective tissue between global initiatives and the local market; translating strategy into actionable plans and ensuring effective operationalization.

Rhythm of Business & Executive Partnership

  • Own the market's rhythm of business-leadership meetings, business reviews, and planning checkpoints-ensuring each has a clear purpose, the right participants, and a defined outcome.
  • Drive operational meetings end to end: set the agenda, prepare the Market Leader and content owners in advance, capture decisions and actions, and follow up until items are closed.
  • Anticipate the Market Leader's needs, preparing briefing materials, talking points, and analysis ahead of key internal and client-facing moments.
  • Track leadership commitments and cross-functional initiatives, providing visibility into status and escalating where progress stalls.
  • Connect the dots across the organization-recognizing how one priority relates to another, identifying the right people to engage, and bringing them together to resolve issues quickly.
  • Build confidence, excitement, and alignment around organizational changes and new ways of working.

Operational Excellence

  • Own the prioritization and delivery of all business operations activities for the market, ensuring minimum service levels are consistently achieved.
  • Enhance operational maturity by designing and implementing scalable, repeatable solutions to systemic challenges.
  • Identify operational risks (e.g., aged receivables, working at risk, engagement financials) and surface them proactively with recommended actions.
  • Shape and improve processes and ways of working to drive efficiency, predictability, and strong business performance.
  • Drive coordinated action across teams by building buy-in, navigating ambiguity, and aligning stakeholders.
  • Participate in and/or lead global initiatives that advance operational excellence across Slalom.

  • Hybrid role, with minimum 3 days a week in the office

What You'll Bring

  • 7-10+ years of professional experience, ideally in operations, consulting, or related field.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to partner with and influence senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated financial and business acumen; ability to interpret and communicate financial performance.
  • Exceptional analytical skills and comfort with data-driven decision making.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in fast-moving environments.
  • Experience with Microsoft technologies (Excel required) and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Experience in process design, optimization, or continuous improvement.
  • Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented, with strong follow-through on commitments.
  • Proactive and anticipatory-identifies what's needed and moves without being asked.
  • Ability to navigate a matrixed organization and connect the dots across teams, priorities, and people.
  • Experience supporting or partnering closely with a senior executive (e.g., chief of staff, business manager, or equivalent).

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this role, we are hiring at the following levels and targeted base pay salary ranges: The targeted base salary pay range for X is $115,000 to $145,000.  In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
