Sr. Associate / VP - SEC Reporting & BDC Finance
$110K-$160K Base | Hybrid, 3 Days/Week | New York, NY

A leading alternative credit platform is seeking a Senior Associate or VP-level candidate to join their SEC Reporting & BDC Finance function. This person will help support a large externally managed BDC and help lead recurring SEC reporting, financial reporting, fund accounting, and operational finance workstreams.

This is a strong opportunity for someone with public accounting, asset management, BDC, private credit, private equity, hedge fund, or broader financial services experience who wants exposure to SEC filings, public-company reporting discipline, Board materials, NAV review, SOX readiness, and cross-functional finance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and reconcile Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy filings, financial statement disclosures, and related SEC reporting materials
  • Oversee third-party administrator deliverables, including NAV packages, close materials, reconciliations, supporting schedules, and reporting workpapers
  • Support fund accounting and BDC finance workstreams, including NAV bridges, roll-forwards, distributions, leverage and asset coverage analysis, management fees, incentive fees, and earnings projections
  • Coordinate with auditors, administrators, legal, tax, compliance, investor relations, valuation, operations, and investment teams on reporting, regulatory, and operational deliverables
  • Support SOX readiness and internal controls, including process narratives, control evidence, review procedures, and remediation tracking
  • Prepare Board materials, senior management presentations, reporting packages, and ad hoc analysis
  • Participate in process improvement, automation, AI-enabled workflow initiatives, and reporting calendar enhancements

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of relevant experience in public accounting, asset management, BDCs, private credit, private equity, hedge funds, or financial services
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, financial reporting, recurring close, audit, or fund administration deliverables
  • Experience with BDCs, investment companies, registered funds, SEC registrants, or public-company reporting preferred
  • CPA designation or progress toward CPA preferred; Big Four public accounting experience is a plus
  • Experience with SOX readiness, internal controls, third-party fund administrators, and Workiva/ Wdesk is preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
