As a Manager, Planning Analytics you will lead the evolution and continuous improvement of our supply chain planning products, systems, and analytical capabilities. This role is focused on enhancing planning performance through the application of advanced analytics, AI, automation, and improved planning logic across our supply chain ecosystem.
You will lead a team of analytics professionals responsible for designing, developing, and scaling improvements to planning solutions including inventory optimization, demand planning, replenishment logic, reporting, and decision-support capabilities. This role sits at the intersection of planning execution, analytics, product, and systems, and requires strong systems thinking combined with hands-on analytical and leadership capability.
This role provides the opportunity to directly influence how planning systems and analytical solutions evolve to better support supply chain decision making. The individual will build trusted partnerships across Product, Process, Technology, and Planning Execution teams to ensure solutions are practical, scalable, adopted by end users, and aligned with broader business priorities.
The ideal candidate brings both technical depth and leadership maturity: someone who can coach and develop talent, set a clear roadmap for system and product improvements, and drive disciplined execution while remaining current on market trends and advancements in AI, automation, and planning technology.
This is a hybrid role based at 345 N Morgan St, Chicago, IL 60607. Candidates must reside in the Chicago metropolitan area. Relocation assistance is not offered at this time.
Requirnments:
Bachelor's degree in Operations Research, Supply Chain, Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
5+ years of experience in supply chain analytics, planning operations, business intelligence, or a related quantitative discipline
Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring analytic resources, coordinating work across multiple priorities, and driving adoption of analytical solutions
Experience:
Strong domain knowledge in supply chain planning concepts including inventory optimization, safety stock, demand quality, replenishment, distribution, and logistics
Hands-on experience improving planning products, systems, or processes through analytics, automation, and enhanced business logic
Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data analysis, scripting, automation, testing, and root cause analysis
Experience with BI and reporting tools including Power BI and Tableau; ability to build, maintain, and publish dashboards and operational reporting
Familiarity with planning or ERP systems such as MAESTRO, SCI Cockpit, APEX, or similar platforms
Exposure to AI / ML, GenAI, automation frameworks, optimization, simulation, or related advanced analytical methods
Experience working with Product and Technology teams to translate business needs into scalable planning and analytical solutions
Experience operating in agile or sprint-based delivery environments (JIRA or equivalent backlog / work management tools)
Responsibilities:
Planning Product Evolution & Systems Improvement
Lead the evolution and continuous improvement of planning analytics products and systems including inventory logic, safety stock, demand quality, replenishment, and related decision-support capabilities
Own and prioritize a roadmap of enhancements that improve planning performance, user experience, scalability, and sustainability
Identify gaps between current-state planning system behavior and desired outcomes; design and implement long-term solutions
AI, Automation & Advanced Analytics
Drive the application of AI, automation, machine learning, and advanced analytics where appropriate to improve planning accuracy, efficiency, and responsiveness
Develop or oversee reusable automations, scripts, simulations, and analytical tools that reduce manual effort and improve decision quality
Evaluate emerging technologies and methods for inclusion in the planning analytics portfolio
Planning Execution Support & Root Cause Analysis
Partner closely with Planning Execution teams to diagnose planning issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement sustainable resolutions
Support time-sensitive escalations when needed while ensuring recurring issues are translated into systemic improvements
Use analytical insight to guide business rule changes, parameter adjustments, and product improvements
Reporting, Decision Support & Adoption
Oversee the development, maintenance, and enhancement of dashboards, reports, and analytical products that improve visibility into planning performance and operational risk
Work with end users and stakeholders to ensure the right level of engagement, usability, and solution adoption
Translate complex analytical results into actionable recommendations for business stakeholders and leadership
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership
Lead, coach, and develop a team of analytics professionals, setting priorities, monitoring delivery quality, and building technical and business capability
Work closely with Product Management and Technology to ensure solutions are aligned to agreed architecture, infrastructure, and long-term product direction
Starting Salary is $115,000-$130,000 with a 10% targeted bonus
