    The Idaho Department of Health and Welfare is hiring a management assistant to support the Administrator for the Division of Public Health and the division's leadership and administrative teams. If you are an executive level assistant skilled in multi-tasking, problem-solving, quality and customer service, come join our rapid pace team. This position is located in Boise.

    This position is not eligible for telework.

    EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

    • Provide executive-level administrative support to the Division Administrator.
    • Participate in and provide input during leadership and management team meetings.
    • Manage calendaring, travel arrangements, and reimbursements for division leadership.
    • Maintain in depth knowledge of the Division, Department, and key stakeholders; develop relationships with lead contacts.
    • Interpret, apply, and implement Department and Division policies and procedures.
    • Manage multiple projects at the direction of the Administrator.
    • Monitor compliance with performance evaluations, required trainings, and timesheet submission.
    • Process and communicate personnel actions (approvals, retirements, terminations, etc.).
    • Provide coordination and leadership to administrative staff across the division.
    • Serve as the Division's liaison to Department HR and other key operational services.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position.     • Experience interpreting and applying regulations or policies and procedures. Typically gained by at least one year of experience reviewing for compliance with laws, regulations, or policies and procedures and explaining discrepancies or explaining to others how laws, regulations, or policies apply to specific situations as a regular part of the job.
    • Experience planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating special projects. Typically gained by experience planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating at least two special projects (special projects exist for a short duration, are outside of normal responsibilities and require significant effort and prioritizing of tasks in order to be completed within the defined time frame.)
    • Experience independently researching, compiling, developing, and summarizing material for reports on a frequent or recurring basis. Typically gained by at least one year of experience in a work, college, or volunteer setting clearly showing how each of the four components listed was required.
    • Experience analyzing information, identifying problems, defining alternatives, and developing recommendations for management/administrators. Typically gained by at least one year of work experience that should have included dealing with staff, overtime, budget, and/or contract problems.
