    Description:

    A mammography tech is responsible for the operation of dedicated mammography equipment to perform radiologic procedures. Typical duties include operating equipment, applying prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis, assisting physicians/radiologists with breast localizations and procedures, and administering radiographic opaque media.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Maintains high standard of technical skills in modality by: Performs diagnostic and screening mammographic studies.
    • Performs mammograms to ACR standards.
    • Appropriate views for exam as per radiologist/department protocol
    • Ability to perform acceptable alternatives when patient condition requires them
    • Ability to physically assist patients to obtain high quality mammogram.
    • Applies prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis
    • Assists physicians/radiologists with specialized procedures
    • Maintains working knowledge of mammography equipment.
    • Completes exam paperwork, coding for billing, patient data for tracking, patient history.
    • Responds to information requests from patients, scheduling, or other departments.
    • This position may require you to work in a hospital, urgent care, or clinical setting.
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    Required Qualifications:
    • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification, (M) Mammography preferred
    • Licensed technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA)
    • Vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).
    • Vaccinated for Influenza, seasonal
