Morgan Properties is hiring Make Ready Service Technicians!

Join our team as a Make Ready Service Technician at The Ridge at Merriman Valley in Akron, OH! This expansive community features 1,400+ apartment homes, offering steady work and opportunities to grow your maintenance career.

The Make Ready Service Technician prepares vacant apartments for market-ready condition by performing various maintenance and turnover duties including, but not limited to:

  • Standard apartment turns and unit preparation
  • Basic appliance repair and troubleshooting
  • Drywall repair and touch-up painting
  • Basic electrical repairs and fixture replacement
  • Caulking and apartment touch-ups
  • Trash-out and debris removal
  • Testing locks and key sets
  • Assisting with property inspections and apartment walks
  • Maintaining grounds and common areas including trash pickup, sweeping sidewalks and breezeways, etc.
  • Assisting Maintenance Technicians, Porters, and Housekeeping as needed

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys apartment turns, takes pride in quality workmanship, and wants to be part of a collaborative maintenance team supporting a large, well-established community.

Compensation & Incentives:

  • Base Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
  • Up to 20% Rent Discount
  • Property Staff Shared Renewal Commissions
  • Morgan Essentials: $300 quarterly
  • On-Call Appreciation: $15/day for holding the on-call phone
  • $100 vehicle stipend

Hours & Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
  • Position will eventually participate in rotating on-call responsibilities
  • Must be available and prepared for emergency events as needed
  • Schedule subject to change based on business needs

What well expect from you:

  • Active and valid drivers license and personal vehicle.
  • Live within a 30-minute commute of the property.
  • Traditional maintenance skills and hands-on experience preferred.
  • Experience with apartment turns, appliance repair, drywall, painting, and basic electrical work preferred.
  • Candidates with strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
  • HVAC/EPA/CFC Certification preferred, but not required.
  • One year of related maintenance experience, or equivalent education and experience.

If you are hired at Morgan Properties, your overall compensation package will also be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
