Job Description:
Education & Experience
- 7–10 years of experience in a related field.
- Accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in thermodynamics.
- Experience with simple-cycle and combined-cycle power plants.
- OEM experience preferred, particularly with GE, Siemens, Nooter/Erikson, or Toshiba.
- Perform thermal analysis of simple-cycle and combined-cycle power plants on a daily basis.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and engineering documentation.
- Run heat-balance software and analyze results.
- Size major equipment for both new and retrofit projects.
- Perform data analysis and engineering calculations using Microsoft Excel.
- Troubleshoot plant equipment under warranty and provide field support.
- Support equipment commissioning and startup activities at plant sites.
- Travel approximately 25% of the time.
- Strong knowledge of thermodynamics.
- Experience with mass and thermal/heat balances.
- Experience performing thermal analysis of power plants.
- Experience sizing major rotating equipment and heat-transfer equipment.
- Experience with heat-balance software such as:
- Thermoflow
- GateCycle
- Other heat-balance programs
- Experience troubleshooting power-plant equipment.
- Experience providing plant-site/field support.
- Strong technical report and specification-writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Plant-site experience.
- Power-generation industry experience.
- Experience with equipment commissioning and startup.
- OEM experience with GE, Siemens, Nooter/Erikson, or Toshiba.
- PE license.
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
