JOB SUMMARY
Maintenance Worker
Performs skilled and manual work in the maintenance, repair, and construction of county facilities, grounds, and infrastructure. Ensures operational safety, performs routine inspections, and assists with special projects as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Facility Maintenance: Perform general maintenance and repair work on buildings, grounds, and equipment.
- Preventative Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and perform preventative maintenance on plumbing, HVAC, and electrical systems.
- Interior & Exterior Repair: Assist with drywall, painting, carpentry, and minor electrical or plumbing repairs.
- Equipment Operation: Operate skid steer, mini-excavator, forklift, and other power equipment for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Inventory Management: Move and organize tools, materials, and equipment; maintain accurate inventory records.
- Roadway & Grounds Maintenance: Perform snow and ice removal, lawn mowing, trimming, and other groundskeeping duties.
- Safety Compliance: Follow safety procedures and maintain equipment in safe operating condition.
- Team Coordination: Collaborate with other maintenance staff to complete projects efficiently.
- Emergency Response: Respond to maintenance emergencies including plumbing leaks, electrical outages, and storm damage.
- Documentation: Maintain logs of work performed, materials used, and maintenance requests completed.
- Knowledge of basic trades including plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.: Skill in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
The individual in this role is expected to contribute to the team's efforts by completing other related tasks, as may be assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
- Primarily indoor/outdoor maintenance setting; exposure to noise, machinery, dust, heat, cold, and inclement weather.
- May require early morning or late evening hours.
- On-call shifts required.
- May be required to work in high or dangerous places.
- May regularly be exposed to uncomfortable temperatures, humidity, noise, chemicals/gases, contagious diseases, airborne particles/pathogens, and/or physical trauma.
- May be required to work in confined spaces.
- May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
- Work may potentially involve risk of exposure to electric shock.
