TITLE: MAINTENANCE WORKER QUALIFICATIONS: 1) Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma plus 3 years of experience in maintenance or related areas. 2) Ability to work outdoors in a variety of conditions and temperatures. 3) Ability to climb and work from ladders or scaffolds 4) Holder of valid Alabama Driver's License. 5) Ability and dexterity to perform all tasks including lifting, stooping, and bending. 6) Any such exceptions or additions to the above qualifications that the Board may feel appropriate and necessary. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBLITIES: 1. Performs maintenance work, including, but not limited to, plumbing repair, electrical wiring, roofing, carpentry, and refrigeration.
Assures that equipment is in a clean and operable condition
Performs inspections of building systems maintenance equipment to determine their operational readiness. Provides critical information to tradesmen for major repairs.
Promotes safety standards by observing board policy and industry standards.
Assist school system staff with unloading, moving, and placement of supplies, materials, equipment, or furniture (on occasions).
Performs other duties as required.
Term of Employment: Twelve Months. Salary Schedule
Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Board policy.
