Summary:
We are looking for a Maintenance Unit Supervisor to lead and support a union crew. This role involves supervising electricians and mechanics, ensuring safety, solving problems, and keeping operations running smoothly. The schedule includes 12-hour shifts rotating between days and nights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise electricians and mechanics in your department.
- Provide guidance, training, and technical troubleshooting support.
- Ensure all work is done safely and no harm comes to people or the environment.
- Lead safety discussions and job-specific safety checks.
- Manage planned and unplanned maintenance work to meet department goals.
- Assign tasks fairly and clearly to crew members.
- Adjust crew schedules based on absences, vacations, and equipment needs.
- Apply root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques to restore production quickly.
- Work with and influence others to resolve problems and improve results.
Qualifications (Required):
- High School diploma or GED.
- At least 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience with direct reports.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of HR/IR policies and labor agreements.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles.
