The Maintenance Training Instructor supports the Maintenance Training Manager by developing, delivering, and continuously improving technical training programs for maintenance personnel. It ensures a safe learning environment, integrates adult‑learning principles, and maintains accurate, up‑to‑date training materials aligned with regulatory standards such as IATA, CFR 49, OSHA, FAR, DOT, and EPA. The role also manages training records, recommends curriculum improvements, and collaborates with station leadership and other departments to maintain training consistency across locations.

This role requires strong classroom management, frequent travel to maintenance and contract bases, and strict adherence to company policies and safety practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promotes and fosters a safe and secure operating environment.
  • Facilitates complete implementation and integration of the adult learning style/theory training within each aspect of the Maintenance Training Department.
  • Assists with obtaining and analyzing data to continuously improve the training curriculum.
  • Develops and maintains technical training aids and material.
  • Performs as Cockpit Trainer and Examiner for Run/Taxi and TOW operations.
  • Performs as Simulator operator and Evaluator for Run/Taxi Examiner certifications.
  • Conducts Run/Taxi Initial, Left Seat Qualification Training and Forklift Training.
  • Ensures that maintenance training courses will be technically accurate, up-to-date, and clearly relevant to the student's everyday work.
  • Capable of conducting training equivalent to ATA Spec Level IV.
  • Coordinates with local managers and supervisors to ensure training concurrency of station personnel.
  • Coordinates and looks for synergies with Flight and Inflight Services.
  • Manages large groups in a classroom environment to ensure safe completion of training goals.
  • Recommends changes to existing maintenance training programs.
  • Maintains curriculum in accordance with IATA, CFR 49, OSHA, FAR, DOT, and EPA.
  • Updates and maintains training records for new hire and current maintenance employees.
  • Ensures all specified policies, practices, and procedures are complied with, and follows Company policies and procedures for completion of assigned duties.
  • Travels to maintenance base and contract base locations to facilitate required training courses.
  • Attendance is considered an essential responsibility.

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • High school diploma
  • Training or experience in working with Adult Learning Styles
  • Airframe and Power Plant Certificate
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, internet courseware development tools, and email

Preferred:

  • Associates Degree in Aviation, communications, or teaching curriculum
  • Federal Aviation Regulations Part 121 or 135 experience
