Maintenance / Safety Trainer – B Shift

Overview

JBS Grand Island Beef is seeking a highly motivated Maintenance/Safety Trainer to join our Maintenance & Reliability team. This role plays a key part in strengthening our maintenance and safety culture by delivering high‑quality training, supporting new hires, and ensuring compliance with all safety protocols. Our department is growing and evolving—this is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of our training programs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct authorized training on safety topics including:
• • Powered Industrial Trucks
  • Lockout/Tagout
  • Fall Protection
  • Respiratory Protection
  • Permit‑Required Confined Spaces
  • Hazard Communication
  • Maintenance training topics as assigned
• Deliver new‑hire and monthly safety training and ensure all required sessions are completed on schedule.
• Promote a safe working environment by collaborating with plant managers, supervisors, and team members.
• Perform initial evaluations for maintenance new hires to determine starting wages.
• Ensure all new employees understand and are properly trained in safety policies and procedures.
• Train maintenance employees (post‑probation) in core maintenance skills such as:
• • Welding
  • Power Transmission
  • Pneumatics
  • Hydraulics
  • Electrical
• Track maintenance employee training hours each quarter and communicate progress to management.
• Submit job change forms for employee wage increases.
• Work flexible days/hours as needed (regular schedule TBD).
• Other duties as assigned

Basic Skills & Qualifications

• Strong mechanical background with experience in welding, power transmission, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Solid knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards (preferred).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Outlook.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred.
• Experience as a shop or mechanical instructor is ideal.
