Maintenance Technician

This role is responsible for troubleshooting equipment, performing preventative maintenance, ensuring machine uptime, and maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient production environment. Experience troubleshooting and repairing CNC machines (Niigata, Matsuura, Nakamura, Mazak, Haas, or Yasda).

Maintenance Technician
Pay: $30.00–$37.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of manufacturing equipment and facility systems. This role is responsible for troubleshooting equipment, performing preventative maintenance, ensuring machine uptime, and maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient production environment.
What You'll Need

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience
• Experience maintaining CNC machines, including:
  • Niigata
  • Matsuura
  • Nakamura
  • Mazak
  • Haas
  • Yasda
• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for mechanical and machine control systems
• Ability to coordinate maintenance activities with production to minimize downtime
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Knowledge of industrial maintenance equipment and hand tools
• Ability to identify potential maintenance issues before they become major problems
• Understanding of hazardous materials, chemicals, PPE, and safe work practices
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and time management
• Forklift operation experience
• Ability to multitask and adapt to changing priorities

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment
• Troubleshoot mechanical and machine control issues
• Support equipment uptime and preventative maintenance programs
• Maintain proper machine fluid levels and perform routine inspections
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and communicate repair needs
• Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition
• Perform general facility maintenance, including painting, cleaning, sweeping, and upkeep of work areas
• Safely handle chemicals and hazardous materials
• Use maintenance tools and equipment safely and effectively
• Receive materials from vendors using forklifts, pallet jacks, and overhead cranes
• Remain available by company-issued cell phone for work-related communication

Working Environment
This position is performed in a manufacturing environment and may involve:

• Exposure to high noise levels
• Moving machinery and mechanical hazards
• Metal dust, fumes, oil, and cutting fluids
• Forklift traffic and overhead lifting equipment
• Occasional travel between facilities in the Westfield and Southwick, MA area

Physical Requirements

• Ability to read equipment manuals and machine drawings
• Lift up to 40 pounds as needed
• Stand, walk, bend, reach, climb stairs, push, pull, and sit for extended periods
• Climb into and out of manufacturing equipment when required
