The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and troubleshooting of hospital facilities, equipment, and building systems. This position helps maintain a safe, clean, functional, and reliable environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Duties may include maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, structural, and other facility systems. The technician responds to maintenance requests and emergencies, prioritizes work based on operational and patient-care needs, follows applicable safety and infection-control requirements, and accurately documents work performed. The position requires sound judgment, technical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems and equipment.
· Troubleshoot and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general facility issues.
· Complete preventative maintenance tasks as scheduled.
· Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and efficient manner.
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations and facility policies.
· Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance logs.
· Assist with facility inspections and regulatory compliance.
· Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours and emergency maintenance needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma or equivalent required
· Previous maintenance or facilities experience preferred
· Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC(preferred), and general repairs
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
· Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods.
· Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull tools, equipment, supplies, and materials, with weight limits consistent with hospital policy.
· Ability to climb ladders and work from elevated platforms when required.
· Ability to work in mechanical rooms, ceiling spaces, and other areas with limited access.
· Ability to perform repetitive hand and arm movements when using hand and power tools.
· Ability to reach overhead and work in awkward positions while performing repairs and maintenance.
· Ability to safely operate and handle maintenance tools, equipment, and machinery.
· Ability to tolerate exposure to varying temperatures, noise, dust, odors, and other conditions commonly encountered in hospital maintenance environments.
· Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, eye protection, hearing protection, respiratory protection, or other equipment as required.
· Ability to respond quickly to maintenance emergencies and navigate hospital facilities safely.

· Ability to remain alert and focused for extended periods, particularly when monitoring equipment and responding to maintenance issues.
· Ability to prioritize and manage multiple work orders, emergencies, and competing maintenance needs.

· Ability to follow detailed safety procedures, infection-control requirements, hospital policies, and technical instructions.
· Ability to adapt to changing priorities, unexpected breakdowns, and emergency situations.
· Ability to work independently while recognizing when an issue requires escalation or specialized assistance.
· Attention to detail when inspecting equipment, documenting repairs, reading manuals, blueprints, and technical specifications.
· Ability to exercise discretion and maintain professionalism in a patient-care environment

· Must be available for on-call rotation
