Position Summary Performs semi skilled work in the maintenance and repair of buildings and associated equipment systems. Responds to emergency situations as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED
  • General knowledge and skills of the following:
  • Minor HVAC
  • Minor electrical
  • Minor plumbing
  • Minor carpentry
  • Minor repair of doors, windows including hardware
  • Painting including minor wall repair
  • General building maintenance
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Respond to various alarms: fire, elevator entrapment, sprinkler leaks, etc.
  • Must possess maturity in judgment, have demonstrated professionalism, creativity, and ability to get along with widely diverse personalities
  • Basic computer skills
  • Minimum of 5 years experience performing minor HVAC, minor electrical, etc.
  • Individual must have a valid drivers license and be insurable by the University, which includes maintaining a low risk driving record

Preferred Qualifications While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

  • Monitor Metasys HVAC control systems
  • Refrigerant recovery certification
  • Trades related certifications
  • Training documentation required
