Tuesday - Saturday 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

What you bring to SBHG (Qualifications):

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Vocational training, apprenticeship, or certification courses in construction/maintenance trades preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of one (1) year of hand-on building maintenance experience required.

Licensure:

  • Valid California Driver's License, required.

  • Valid California Class "B" Driver's License, preferred

How you will make a difference (job overview):

The Maintenance Technician performs a variety of tasks to assist the Facilities Supervisor in maintaining the physical plant. Performs preventive maintenance and emergency repairs to the facility and grounds including utilities, plumbing, painting, masonry, carpentry, electrical, refrigeration, and heating and air conditioning. Receives and delivers materials and supplies to the appropriate departments. Performs miscellaneous sanitation duties such as sweeping and cleaning the surrounding sidewalks, parking lots, and emptying trash containers. Manually lifts and moves furniture and equipment. Able to interact with vendors in a professional manner. Available for on-call emergency repair situations.

  • Population Served: A comprehensive mental health in patient residential facility for adolescents; Statewide service for up to 60 adolescents (ages 12-17) experiencing severe mental health challenges.

  • Facility & Setting: 24/7 locked, highly secure inpatient residential campus operating with the highest standards of dignity and care since 1988.

  • Programs: Psychiatric Health Facility (PHF), Community Treatment Facility (CTF), and an on-site Non-Public High School (SBHS).

  • Clinical Services: Multidisciplinary mental health services, Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS), and Intensive Day Treatment Program.
