    We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Production Maintenance Technician. This position reports to Operations Manager and will work in Stuart/Port St Lucie.

    About the position

    As Production Maintenance Technician of the Stuart/Port St Lucie team, you will be involved in various aspects of plant maintenance to ensure all equipment and facilities are operating properly, adhering to preventative maintenance schedules of all in-house equipment. The Maintenance Technician repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as motors, pneumatic tools, and production machines and equipment. In addition to typical maintenance the technician will modify components for the assembly process.  The person in this position will be responsible for maintaining documentation related to maintenance tasks. 

    Your Main Responsibilities

    • Responsible for performing and assisting with all type changeovers, repairs, rebuilds, modifications, installation, troubleshooting, and diagnostics of all equipment related to processes.

    • Conduct routine daily, weekly, monthly, inspections of building and machinery and generate work request / task list from these inspections. Maintain a visual tracking system in place for tracking of these projects. Goal is to be pro-active, not reactive.

    • Troubleshoot and quickly ascertain the nature of problems and be able to provide a permanent solution

    • Supports engineering with test equipment

    • Look up parts by part number, by vendor name or bill of materials. Locate/research and provide accurate documentation for parts purchase requisitions and provide justification to support cost

    • Attend morning meetings to keep management / supervisors updated on present status of all work in process, needs in scheduling to perform PM or equipment changes, parts availability, special problems as they arise, and any other problems which may affect the overall operations of the plant or the equipment

    • Maintain and utilize maintenance manuals

    • Assist management in planning future budget and project needs, process improvements, equipment improvements and needs

    • Must be willing work overtime or weekend as needed to support any downtime events to ensure production can operate at full capacity

    • Must maintain the attitude and willingness to support any function necessary to meet company goals and objectives.

    • Assist with special projects and process improvements on production floor

    • At times you may be requested for other duties or assignments outside normal job duties

    • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area using the principles of 5S
    • Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety
    • Keep equipment operating safely by enforcing operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, scheduling preventative maintenance, and calling for repairs
    • Maintain storage areas by organizing floor space, adhering to storage design principles, and recommending improvements
    • Comply with OSHA and MSDS Standards
    • Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds
    • Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing and the use of repetitive motions of hands/wrists

      Skills & Requirements

      A suitable background would be a solid experience within manufacturing and machinery as well as the following qualifications and experiences:

      • High school diploma or equivalent, training specializing in maintenance preferred

      • Minimum of three years of experience in general maintenance, multi-craft preferred

      • Strong mechanical, electrical, machining, troubleshooting and design skills 

      •  Must be knowledgeable in the safe and proper use of shop type equipment such as drilling, cutting, grinding, drill presses, lathes, milling machines, welder, solder and other small bench or hand equipment

      • Knowledge and experience in a Manufacturing environment (electronics a plus)

      • Must possess wide range of basic skills sets on mechanical (including light machining), electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, minor lift truck PM and repair.  Ability to support engineering with test equipment

      • Must be self-starter, effectively work independently, or with a team. Work with a sense of urgency to minimize down time events on equipment, production, or building

      • Experience with Microsoft office products word and excel

      • Ability to perform basic math skills and measurement

      • Must be able to read and write English
