Maintenance TechnicianGemini | Roxana, Illinois$18.00 - $21.00 per hour | Full Time | Non-Exempt (overtime eligible) | On-site WHY THIS ROLE MATTERSWhen a machine goes down, production stops until it is running again - and our Maintenance team is who gets it back. In this role you keep equipment on a preventive schedule, catch problems before they become failures, and make repairs fast and safely so the plant can hit customer deadlines. WHAT YOU'LL DOPerform preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and facilities on schedule.Inspect equipment for wear, damage, or malfunction and take corrective action.Troubleshoot breakdowns, find the root cause, and make repairs that last.Replace defective parts and components using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment.Help maintain building systems - HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs.Work with vendors and contractors on parts, service, and technical support.Keep accurate work orders, equipment logs, and parts inventory counts.Follow all safety protocols, including lockout / tagout.Respond quickly to equipment and facility issues to minimize downtime.Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.Keep a clean, organized, and safe shop and work area. WHAT YOU BRINGHigh school diploma or equivalent.Mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.Strong problem-solving skills and a safety-first mindset, even under pressure.Clear, respectful communication and a willingness to support your teammates.Flexibility to work varying shifts, weekends, overtime, and on-call as production requires. NICE TO HAVEPrevious experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing or industrial setting.Vocational training, certification, or an associate degree in maintenance or a related field.Trade-specific licenses or certifications - electrical, HVAC, forklift, or OSHA. SCHEDULE AND WORK ENVIRONMENTOn-site at our Gemini facility in Roxana, Illinois. Shifts, weekends, overtime, and on-call coverage as required; no travel. Work takes place on the plant floor and in mechanical and utility areas, with some rooftop and exterior work in varying weather. Expect exposure to moving machinery, lubricants and solvents, dust, temperature extremes, and high noise levels. Safety glasses, gloves, footwear, hearing protection, and task-specific PPE are required as posted. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMust be able to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, bend, and reach for extended periods; lift and carry up to 50 lbs; and work in confined spaces and at heights.
