Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to help maintain a safe, clean, and well-functioning residential community at Smith Heights Apartments. In this role, you will handle day-to-day maintenance requests, complete preventative maintenance tasks, and support the overall upkeep of the property to ensure a positive living experience for residents.
Responsibilities
- Respond to resident maintenance requests in a timely, professional manner
- Complete repairs involving plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, carpentry, and general building systems
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspect equipment, units, and common areas
- Prepare apartment homes for move-in by completing turnover tasks and repair work
- Assist with maintaining curb appeal and general property cleanliness
- Identify maintenance issues and recommend appropriate solutions
- Support emergency repairs and participate in on-call coverage as needed
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, parts used, and service requests
- Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with applicable property standards
- Work collaboratively with the property management team to support resident satisfaction
Qualifications
- Previous maintenance experience in multifamily housing, hospitality, or a related environment preferred
- Working knowledge of general maintenance practices, tools, and repair techniques
- Experience with plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, or carpentry is a plus
- Ability to diagnose issues and complete repairs efficiently and safely
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Basic computer or mobile device skills for work order systems is helpful
- Valid driver’s license may be required
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and lift moderate to heavy items
- Comfort working indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely
