Maintenance technician

HiFyve is hiring a Maintenance Technician in the Manufacturing industry

Salary: Up to $36/hr

Shift: 4:00 pm - 12:00 am (Midnight)

Location: St. Charles, MO

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial production equipment and mechanical systems
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime
• Troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, drives, ovens, furnaces, bearings, gearboxes, piping systems, and other rotating equipment
• Remove and install mechanical seals, bearings, couplings, and other mechanical components
• Perform precision alignment of pumps and rotating equipment using dial indicators and other precision measurement tools
• Troubleshoot and repair industrial textile and knitting equipment used in the carbon fiber manufacturing process
• Perform mechanical assembly and disassembly of production equipment
• Fabricate, modify, and repair equipment and components as needed
• Perform pipe fitting and welding-related repairs when qualified
• Assist with equipment installation, startup, and facility improvement projects
• Learn and troubleshoot single- and three-phase electrical systems
• Troubleshoot 480V VFD controllers, overloads, contactors, circuit breakers, limit switches, conveyors, and related electrical components
• Conduct equipment inspections and identify opportunities to improve reliability and reduce downtime
• Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout and confined space entry requirements
• Safely work at heights, in confined spaces, and around energized and rotating equipment as trained and authorized
• Document maintenance activities accurately in the CMMS system
• Maintain a clean and organized work area while supporting 5S and continuous improvement initiatives
• Communicate effectively with production, maintenance, and leadership teams
• Support other maintenance and facility-related duties as assigned

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Related technical certification preferred
• Associate's degree or vocational training in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Maintenance, or a related field preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Minimum 3 years of plant maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and industrial maintenance experience
• Skilled in mechanical troubleshooting, repair, assembly, and disassembly
• Experience working with pumps, motors, drives, gearboxes, bearings, mechanical seals, and rotating equipment
• Ability to perform precision alignment using dial indicators and other measurement tools
• Basic electrical knowledge with the ability and willingness to learn industrial electrical systems
• Experience troubleshooting 480V VFDs, contactors, overloads, circuit breakers, limit switches, and conveyors is a strong plus
• Electrical and controls experience
• Structure welding/SMAW (stick) welding training and experience is a plus
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, equipment manuals, and schematics
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical maintenance equipment
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Internet applications
• CMMS experience preferred
• Forklift experience is a plus
• Ability to work safely at heights and in confined spaces
• Ability to wear a full-face respirator when required
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement
• Ability to work around carbon fiber materials, chemicals, dust, fumes, noise, and varying temperatures
• Ability to work around moving machinery and industrial equipment while following all required PPE and safety procedures
