    TITLE: MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

    WORK SCHEDULE: 12-month

    SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Support Staff Salary Schedule - Group C

    $16.73

    GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

    To ensure the health and safety of students, staff and the general public by ensuring efficient maintenance and operation of school facilities.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Completes assigned preventive maintenance and repair work orders in the district, for mechanical, electrical and building systems;
    • Performs facilities maintenance and repairs such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, drywall, and roofing as assigned;
    • May assist custodians with furniture and equipment moving for cleaning and special events;
    • Monitors school facilities on a regular basis to determine the type of repairs and maintenance required;
    • Assists with monitoring for and compliance with all applicable codes and regulations;
    • Operates welding and cutting equipment;
    • Operates tractors and other heavy equipment;
    • May test and maintain records and maps of all gas mains and service lines;
    • Participates in various training sessions to upgrade skills;
    • Utilizes blueprints and general operating manuals in the performance of duties;
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    A. EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

    • High school diploma or equivalent preferred;
    • One year of related experience required;
    • Two years of experience in related field preferred;
    • Ability to communicate and work well with staff and the general public;
    • Valid Arizona driver's license.

    B. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to lift 75 lbs. without assistance.
