    POSITION SUMMARY:

    This position is responsible for assisting the facilities manager in the upkeep and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings and other facilities.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Perform some cleaning activities as needed to maintain cleanliness throughout the facility;
    • Address minor fixes, including repairing broken locks, repairing and painting walls and other basic skills;
    • Inspect electrical panels and wiring to identify issues and ensure safety;
    • Supervise contractors when on site;
    • Complete reports in a timely manner;
    • Install, maintain and repair appliances and equipment;
    • Perform outdoor maintenance on lighting, parking lots and grounds;

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    Required:

    • Basic knowledge of mechanical tools;
    • Basic knowledge of any of the following: HVAC, plumbing, air compressors and electrical systems;
    • Ability to use hand tools and meters effectively;
    • Must be able to read and work from technical manuals and drawings;
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills;
    • Physical stamina and manual dexterity;
    • Must be able to climb ladders and work comfortably at heights up to 40 feet;
    • High school diploma or equivalent.

    Preferred:

    • Graduate of a technical or vocational school/college;
    • Completion of OSHA’s 10-hour general industry safety training;
    • Drafting or welding experience;
    • Small engine repair or hydraulics or pneumatics training;
    • Manlift, Scissorlift and/or forklift operation.
